1. What is nanotechnology?
When we say Nanotechnology it is one of the branch of science and engineering that devoted to
designing, producing, and using structures, devices, and system by manipulating atoms and molecules
and nanoscale.
2. How big is a nanometer?
Nanometer is very small. You can’t see the nanometer with your eyes, or a light microscope.
3. How does nanotechnology work?
Nanotechnology is the science of building machines and nanotechnology is the one that controlling
the matter at the nanoscale.
4. What are nanomaterials?
Nanomaterials is a chemical industry use to produce objects that vary enormously in their size from
say the iron girders for bridge and building.
5. What are synthetic nanoparticles?
Synthetic nanoparticles is play an important role in nanotechnology that composed of metals,
semiconductor materials, compounds such a metal oxides (inorganic nanoparticles) or of carbon or
carbon-containing compounds such as polymers (organic nanoparticles).
6. What are nanoclusters?
Nanocluster is a small particle, it is a individual nanoparticle.
7. How are nano particles made?
Nanoparticles made by breaking down larger of larger particles or by controlled assembly processes
and all thing we do .like cooking, manufacturing road and air transport are realising nanoparticles in
the atmosphere.
8. Where is nanotechnology used today? Can I buy nanotechnology products? Give at least 10 example of
nanotechnology products.
Nanotechnology used in medicine, food, fuels, batteries, water, fabric.
Yes.

10. Where is nanotechnology being developed?
Developed in Global South that have meanwhile invested in nanotechnology over fifty countries in
Latin America, Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean engaged in nanotechnologies.
11. Where will nanotechnology take us?
Nano technology will lead is in better future.
12. Are there specific health or other risk from nanoproducts?
Yes there are lung cancer, lung disease.
13. What countries are active in nanotechnology? Does the Philippines already active in nanotechnology?
India, China, USA, South Korea, Germany, Iran, japan, france, UK, Spain, Russia, Italy, Australia,
Canada, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Poland, Singapore, Turkey. Yes, because we use the things
that having a nanotechnology.
14. What are the companies that make nanomaterials or are involved in nanotechnology?
DOE, Basic Energy Sciences, Program Summaries
DOE/BES Summary Report (pdf)
NIH Nanomedicine Program Highlights
NIH/NCI Alliance for Nanotechnology in Cancer Accomplishments
NIST, Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology (CNST) Project Highlights
NSF Nanoscience Project Highlights
