received from the Director of Technical Education.
2. Letter No.EE3/726/08 dated 15.01.2009 from the Director of Industries
and Commerce.
3. Letter No.AVIII (3) 9476/92/GW dated 26/10/2009 received from Kerala
Public Service Commission.

ORDER

In the letters read as 1st paper above, the Director of Technical Education has informed that
the Department of Technical Education has been conducting a three year Diploma Course in Tool
and Die Engineering and recommended Government to approve this qualification as an alternate
qualification for appointment to the posts where Diploma holders in Mechanical Engineering are
posted. Accordingly Government have examined the matter in detail in consultation with the
Director of Industries and Commerce and consulted the Kerala Public Service Commission for
advice to approve the proposal of the Director of Technical Education. As per the letter read as
2nd paper above, the Kerala Public Service Commission has agreed to the proposal.

In the circumstances, it is ordered that Three year Diploma Certificate in Tool & Die
Engineering issued by the Technical Education Department in Kerala shall be considered as an
altrernate qualification for all the supervisory posts for which Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
is an essential Qualification.
