Narrative Report in INSET 2012

It was the last day of the In-Service Training for the teachers of Rizal Elementary School
and the sixth grade teachers were in-charge of the day’s program. Mrs. Jennifer F. Ortiz served as the
master of the ceremony that day. The program started with a prayer that was led by Mrs. Norie Osama
that was followed by a joyful attendance song from Mrs. Ivy Legaspi entitled “Agadoo”. Mrs. Ma. Anna
P. Andres delivered her thought for the day with this quotation, “Anger is temporary but the effect of
hasty actions can have lasting repercussions.” On the other hand, Mrs. Marites Mamauag gave her
overview of the road safety reduction that introduces the speakers’ topic.

The speakers of the day were partly held from their engagement because of a pending
demonstration-teaching of Mrs. Gremicilla D. Roque. She demonstrated a lesson in English for the sixth
grade. Selected teachers from each grade level served as students in the said demonstration-teaching
who pretended to be sixth grade students themselves.

After much thorough criticism that gathered pure positive review from the audience,
Mrs. Arlette P. Voluntad proceeded with her lecture-demonstration for road safety education. She
talked about different signage that drivers and commuters must know to avoid future accidents. She
also showed video clips of common road accidents that drivers and commuters must know to avoid

road. After her Mrs. Ma.Liza San Felipe furthered emphasized the importance of road safety by
inculcating to everyone the difference from a knowledgeable driver and commuter from an ignorant
one.

It was almost high noon and the INSET was set to close therefore Mrs. Lydia Alba and
Mrs. Mary Jane H. Anonical carry on by discussing the new guidelines in preparation of daily lessons
known also as daily logs proposed by the DepEd in preparation for the new curriculum . Both teachers
presented the pros and cons in this new method of lesson plan making, in turn, the teachers gave their
criticisms on the said topic who seemed to be opposing it.

At the end of the INSET, Mrs. Romela V. Sanchez in behalf of Mrs. Zenaida S. Penafuerte
gave the lecturers their certificates together with tokens in showing their time and effort. Lastly, Ms.
Violeta Decena gave her final closing remarks to formally close the INSET for this S.Y. 2012 – 2013.
