STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am applying for the Masters in Big Data Science In your prestigious University as I
believe I can expand my horizon technical and skill wise as it is a place where I can face
challenges, improvise and get myself prepared for the industry I chose to work on more
confidently. This is a platform where I can flaunt my immense skill on mathematics and
programming and simultaneously develop my knowledge on Data Analytics.
My journey of interest goes way long back when I was in middle school, my
favourite subject being mathematics. As the years passed my interest in calculations
paved the path into the big wide world of Artificial Intelligence , Machine Learning and
Data Science. During my schooling student I had been proactive and had actively
participated in many technical competition and scholastic events which has further
strengthened my resolve to make this as my core profession. My interest in mathematics
has earned me great laurels from my tutors besides fetching an highest score of 10 on 10
in my intermediate examinations.
Following this line of interest and keeping in mind the wide scope of
technological advancements in this field, I joined RajaRajeswari College of Engineering
affiliated to the prestigious Visvesveraya Technological University,Belagaum.
Furthermore, my college have been accredited to NBA( National Board of Accredation).
At present, I am pursuing my fourth year Bachelor of Engineering in Information Science
. I have been successfully earned first class throughout these years. I am proud to say that
I have participated in college activities such as a technical quiz organized by department
of Information Science and Engineering and have won 1st prize. Taking this as a privilege
I was honoured to organize the coming technical quiz or in my college which was a
national level platform. In my second year, I developed an interest in Cyber Security
which made me gain knowledge on Ethical Hacking, Network Security, Information
Security and its domain. I had actively participated in a hands-on training session on
“Cyber Security – Ethical Hacking” representing my college and organised by KSCST (
Karnataka State Council of Science and Technology), Government of Karnataka. In the
following year I noticed a vital interest on Machine Learning followed by completing my
industry implant training on “Machine Learning and Data Science using R and Advance
excel” in Tech Fortune Technologies, Bangalore. Keeping that interest I continued to
advance my knowledge on Machine Learning using Python by getting an internship in
Verzeo, Bangalore. I also have completed the requirements to be recognised as a
Microsoft Technology Associate for “Introduction to Programming using Python”.
United Kingdom came as an obvious destination when I started thinking about
persuing my higher education abroad, subconsciously the artist in me voted for the UK as
an obvious choice. Subsequent research towards the possibilities of the country further
accentuated my affinity towards finilizing on the United Kingdom. Further, research into
the top Universities that flaunted immaculate facilities and efficient facility in the field of
Data Science helped me narrow down my search to your prestigious university.At the
University, I hope to be inspired and motivated to take up active roles in student activities
and also hope to gain deep practical insights into the best practices in Data Science.
I believe, in the near future I can boost my self confidence and trigger a giant leap
into a field which I am so earnestly passionate about pursuing. I hope that under the
guidance and assistance of experts from the field stand a chance to emerge as one of the
key resource person of the field. I plan to be an entrepreneur after understanding and
gaining insights from the market. I am convinced that by studying alongside the dedicated
professionals and students in your university, I will be able to engage in enlightening
research and acquire a more profound academic foundation. It would indeed be an honour
and privilege to be able to graduate out of this university with a masters in Data
Analytics.
