PMI TOWER

A. Project Description
The proposed PMI Tower is a twenty (20) story reinforced concrete structure located at Pablo
Ocampo St., Brgy. La Paz, Makati City. It is composed of two (2) levels of commercial area, four (4)
levels of parking area, thirteen (13) levels of office area, and two (2) levels of residential area with
roof deck and helipad level. The project is currently on on-going construction and expected to
finish by July of 2020.

B. Purpose of the Report

This report was created to evaluate the structural stability of the structure as per minimum code
requirements. All analysis and design results generated from the review were based on the
available data and documents provided by the Engineer-On-Record (EOR) to the Reviewer (PMI-
Structural Team).

This also intends to identify areas for value engineering to cut construction cost in terms of
structural materials. Value Engineering generated from this report focuses on reinforcements
only. No modifications were done on the structural system, framing layout and member sizes to
avoid drastic changes on the structural design provided that the project were already on-going
construction.

C. Design Criteria

i. Design Codes and Standards

The reviewer used the following codes as reference for the design review of the project:

NSCP 2015 Volume I – The National Structural Code of the Philippines 2015 7th Edition
Volume 1

UBC 1997 – Uniform Building Code Volume 2: Structural Engineering Design Provision

ACI 318-14 Code – American Concrete Institute Building Code Requirements for
Reinforced Concrete, 2014

ASCE 7-05 Code – American Society of Civil Engineers Minimum Design Loads for
buildings and other Structures.

AISC 14th Edition – American Institute of Steel Construction Inc. Steel Construction
Manual 13th Edition
