The Story of David and Goliath (Israel Literature)

I. Objective

At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:


 identify the characters and events in the story;
 interpret the representations of the characters; and
 tell the important lesson of the story and how can they apply it in everyday life.

II. Subject Matter

 The Story of David and Goliath

 Length of Lesson: one 60 minute (block schedule) period

Materials: PowerPoint presentation, laptop, screen, marker

III. Procedure

A. Preliminaries
1. Prayer
2. Greeting the Class
3. Classroom Management
B. Motivation:
1. The teacher will show some pictures and ask the students if they can guess
its relation to the topic for the day.
C. Class proper
1. The teacher will present the topic with the use of video clip from “The
Bible”. Additionally, the teacher will ask some questions.
D. Generalization

 The teacher will ask the students the following questions:

1. What can you say about the movie?


2. Where can we find the story of David and Goliath?
3. What is the reason why David is not afraid of Goliath?
4. What is the moral lesson of the story?
IV. Evaluation

 The teacher will give a digital activity quiz.

V. Assignment

 Find the story of Noah’s Ark in the Bible and answer the following questions:

1. Why did God let the flood happen?


2. Why do you think God choses Noah?
3. Do you think it is possible to happen again?
