PALAWAN STATE UNIVERSITY

TALAYTAYAN DANCE TROUPE


PSU TALAYTAYAN DANCE TROUPE is a school based organization developed to
allow those with a passion for the arts in dancing a chance to experience a
professional setting in the performance industry. We are dedicated to constantly
creating and maintaining an outlet for those who aspire to express themselves through
all styles of dance and performance.

The goals of the organization include but are not limited to:

Cultivating and showcasing Philippine Traditional Dances


Promoting Personal Artistic Ideas
Allowing Self Expression
Training and Development
Facilitating a Professional Dance Environment
Networking & Creating Opportunities

Article I – Name

The name of this organization shall be PSU Talaytayan Dance Troupe (P.T.D)

Article II – Membership

Section 1. All interested members of P.T.D will participate in a posted scheduled


audition and shall be a bona fide student of PSU Taytay Campus.

Section 2. Auditions include 1 freestyle piece in which any dance genre is


acceptable to perform, this is for the first level of audition. The second
day of audition will be a screening in learning the basic fundamental
steps. The dancers who will pass the audition will be official member
of the dance troupe.

Section 3. All official member is entitled for discount in Students Government of


PSU Taytay Campus in the SG Fees. However, the member should
have a good performance and perfect attendance and will be
recommended for the entitlement of the benefit.

Article III – Officers

Section 1. The officers of PSU Talaytayan Dance Troupe shall be:


a. Co- Director
b. A President
c. A Vice President
d. A Secretary-Treasurer (may be one or two positions)
e. A Wardrobe Custodian for Male and Female
f. A Pros and Accessories Custodian (may be one or two)

Titles of positions may be subject to change as the executive board of PSU


TALAYTAYAN DANCE TROUPE changes.

Section 2. In order to be eligible for an executive board position you must have
been on PSU Talaytayan Dance Troupe for 2 or more years, be in good
academic standing, and show the current executive board that you are
mentally prepared and organized to run the dance troupe.

Section 3. The term of office for the officers of PSU Talaytayan Dance Troupe
shall be from the date the position is passed down to you until your
University graduation, unless you have to leave the dance company
otherwise.

Section 4. The officers shall be elected by a majority of the executive board, and
when the decision cannot be made in a timely fashion, the Co-Director
and President will have the deciding vote.

Section 5. Vacancies of offices shall be (appointed or elected by) the current Co-
Director, President and Vice-President only.

Article IV – Executive Board

Section 1. The Executive Board shall consist of the Co-Director President,


Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer, Custodians and Advisor.

Section 2. All executive and legislative power granted herein shall be vested in
the Executive Board.

Section 3. The Executive Board shall be empowered to recommend priorities for


various projects and to plan activities, including the amount of
performances done each semester and if the dance troupe will hold an
end of the year recital. Other decisions include:
 Fines
 Rehearsal Outfit
 University Calendar for Performances
Article V – Practices

Section 1. Practice days are subject to change depending on the schedules of the
members for the specific semester. The dance company should practice
a total of 6 hours a week.

Section 2. Specialized meetings will be held with and by executive members


only, if needed. Practice times and date should increase the week
before and the week of a show.

Article VII – Impeachment and Removal

Section 1. Officers may be impeached and, if convicted, removed from office by


a
two-thirds majority of the voting members on the basis of not fulfilling
their duties as outlined in the Constitution and By-Laws.

Section 2. Members may be impeached and, if convicted, may be expelled from


membership by a two-thirds majority of the voting members on the
basis of not fulfilling the purpose of the organization.

Section 3. Any individual who is impeached shall be given full notice of the
allegations against him/her and shall have an opportunity to respond to
them.

Section 4. Any member of the organization may initiate impeachment


proceedings.

Article VIII – Amendments

Section 1. Amendments to this Constitution shall be proposed only be the


upcoming executive board and only before the current executive board
fully steps down from their positions. Constitution may be changed as
the years change and the executive board changes, but the changes
must be approved by two-thirds of the past/current executive board.
Section 2. Once amendments are accepted, amendments must be noted and
Constitution must be update for Temple Student Government, and
Temple Student Activities.

Article IX – Active Status

In order to maintain active status, the organization agrees to abide by those rules and
regulations, given to us by PSU Taytay Student Government and PSU-Taytay Student
Activities.

Article X – Duties of Officers

Section 1. The duties of the Co-Director shall be to:

a. Determining and implementing policies and making Decisions

b. Calling meetings, including and annual meeting and practices of the


dance troupe.

c. Discuss and approve all performances the dance troupe will


participate in.

d. Represent/or appoint someone to PSU Talaytayan Dance Troupe at


all PSU-Taytay Student Government meetings and activities.

Section 2. The duties of the President shall be to:

a. Preside over all Executive Board and regular practices.

b. Regulate all disagreements and issues within members of the


dance team.

c. Prepare for all programs, activities and dances.

d. Sign all financial documents of the organization.

Section 3. The duties of the Vice President shall be to:

a. Act as the President should the President for any reason be


unable to carry out the Presidential duties.

b. Assist the President in administering all business.


Section 4. The duties of Secretary-Treasurer shall be to:

a. Take brief minutes of each meeting and take care of any major
correspondence concerning the dance troupe as a whole.

b. Keep a record of all financial and historical documents.


Including the collection of dues and the collection of money for
any fund raising events.

c. Sign all financial documents (or President/Vice President).

d. Alert all members when practice is and create a practice


schedule accustomed for the schedule changes in each
semester.

Section 5: The duties of Custodian shall be to:

a. Select, fit, and take care of costumes for cast members, and aid
entertainers. May assist with multiple costume changes during
performances.

b. Take in-charge in doing inventories twice a month. Checking


for damages and replacement of the costume, props and
accessories.

c. In-charge in collection and distribution of distinguish costume,


props and accessories for specific performance.

Article XI – Finances

Section 1. Dues will be paid by individuals of the group, P20.00 every month, at a
selected date that the Treasurer will work with the President to create.

Section 2. Fines includes, P1 peso per minute for being late, P5.00 for improper
rehearsal outfit(top/shorts), P50.00 for not attending regular and
emergency meeting, P 20.00 absents in rehearsal and during actual
performances.

Section 2. Funds will be used for team operations including costumes and space
payments for the end of the year recital.

Section 3. All finances shall be handled by the Treasurer under the watchful eye
of the President.
