HOW TO SIGN UP FOR THE EXAMS

1. First, choose your test sitting and fill out the form in the web page of The English Institute
(www.theenglishinstitute.com/examenes_cambridge). However, you are able to sign up by e-
mail (cambridgeteidenia@gmail.com) by giving us the following information:
 -Complete name and surname(s)  -E-mail (if applicable)
 -ID number  -Telephone number
 -Date of birth  -Level that you would like to sign up for
 -Address (especially the town/city)  -Date that you would like to sign up for
2. Second, pay the corresponding fees in:

(Please, ensure you have included the name of the candidate in the concept. If you do not, it
may make it difficult for us to know who to apply the payment to.)
 Please note that the candidate is not fully signed up for the exam until payment has
been made. SPACES ARE LIMITED in the majority of the sittings, especially in the
Computer-Based versions. For that reason, when a candidate signs up for the exam, he/she
is reserving his/her place. From that moment, he/she has two days to pay the examination
fees. On the third day, if the situation would appear that all spaces have been filled up, any
spaces unpaid for will be passed on to candidates in the waiting list. In all cases, we will try
to get in contact with the candidate before giving their space to someone else

3. Third, once you have made the payment, you should send us a copy of the payment in person

Photo on the day of the exam:
If you are going to do the FCE (B2), CAE (C1) or the CPE (C2), you must sign a form of consent in which you
are authorizing your picture to be taken on the day of the exam. This photo will be sent along with your exam
fulfilling the regulations of Cambridge University. This form is included at the end of this document.

Informative notes*

Ensure that you have signed up for the correct exam. Once the enrolment period is finished and the entries
have been sent to Cambridge, Cambridge does not permit any candidate to change the level of the exam nor the
session of the exam they have signed up for.

You can cancel the enrolment only up until the day the period of enrolment has closed. In this case, you will receive
the fee you paid, subtracting the cancellation fee. After that date, no cancellation or refund will be permitted except
in the case of illness, and only then when handing in medical proof.

Each student will receive a timetable of the exams (Confirmation of Entry). If 21 days before the date of the written
exam you still have not received it, it is the responsibility of each student to get in contact with The English
Institute in order to find out the exact times and dates. In the case of Computer-Based Exams, you will be sent
the timetable a week before the date of the written exam.

There exists the possibility, but no guarantee, of being able the change the date and time of the speaking exam,
taking into consideration that once the programme has been set up, any change of one candidate will have to be
agreed upon with another candidate, since they will have to exchange their times with each other. However, no
candidate can ask for times or dates outside the set examination period.

The date of the written exam cannot be changed given that it is the same for all countries in the world.

The Speaking exams for CPE (C2), CAE (C1), FCE (B2), PET (B1) and KET (A2) will be done in groups of two, and
only in exceptional cases, groups of three.

**** VERY IMPORTANT ****: Candidates should arrive 15 minutes before each part of the exam, and have
with them the Confirmation of Entry and a current picture I.D. THE I.D. (GENERALLY, “DNI” OR PASSPORT) IS
ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY ON THE DAY OF THE EXAM. IT MUST BE VALID AND THE ORIGINAL
DOCUMENT. A PHOTOCOPIED VERSION OR ONE SCANNED IN DIGITAL FORMAT ARE UNACCEPTABLE.

Before each part of the exam, all the candidates will be told to leave all personal belongings in a designated place.
They will only need the following items: pen, pencil (types B or HB), rubber, pencil sharpener, Confirmation of
Entry and I.D.

The date when the results will be available on-line is mentioned on the Confirmation of Entry. The person that
collects the certificate must show a picture ID.

The decision of Cambridge University on the results of the exams is final and in no case will it return the
exams to the candidate. If the candidate believes there is a mistake in their results, he/she should follow the steps
explained in the this web page: http://www.cambridgeenglish.org/help/enquiries-and-appeals/.

Picking up certificates:

On the Confirmation of Entry, you will find the date Cambridge plans on publishing the results of your exam.
Once the certificates themselves have arrived in our office, the candidate, having been informed via text message,
will need to come in person to The English Institute showing a valid ID in order to pick up their certificate.

If for any reason the candidate cannot come in person, he/she could authorise another person to pick it up in their
place. This person must show their own ID and a written authorization made by the candidate and needs to be
informed of the level and the date of the exam

Below you will find a model authorization which you can print or copy.

*In the case of signing up through your preparation centre, you should ask your school whether or not you can pick
up the certificate at your own centre without having the need to travel to The English Institute.
