EMI standard lead time for non-stock screw tips is 3–4 weeks; however, for a $199.00 premium we will provide
shipment within 10 working days* and:
• Expedited design, spec confirmation and order processing
• Preferred set-up and production scheduling
• Arrangement of high-priority heat treatment with rush transportation services
If for any reason EMI cannot ship within 10 working days, the $199.00 premium will be waived.
*In cases requiring confirmation of specifications or when a sample valve is supplied, the 10 working day period will start upon full
confirmation and signed customer approval of dimensions.

This check valve offers the best all-around precision shot control Hi-Flow ball checks are ideal for high speed molding of general

Side Discharge
This ball check valve gives you excellent shot control, enhanced
mixing action, is self-cleaning and purges rapidly via a “washing”
action between the nose cone and end cap, making it ideal for fast
color changes. Replaceable, low cost ball and ball seat minimize
maintenance costs and downtime. Hand seated interfaces ensure
a tight seal. This is an ideal valve for general purpose, non-shear-
sensitive materials where frequent color changes must be made.

Ball Check Replacement Inserts
Fluted Check Insert

The special fluted design of EMI's FCI (Fluted Check
Insert) stays centered and hits the hole square in
situations where the ball in a standard insert may hit
one side of the hole before seating inside the insert
causing uneven wear and a poor seal. Our standard
FCI is constructed from S-7 Tool Steel to provide
maximum durability--one customer indicates the
original S-7 FCI has been installed for more than a
year with no wear inside the insert shell and just a
minor indicator ring on the FCI itself.
Our customers have consistently reported decreased

recovery times versus a standard ball insert. Also,
the pack out of the part is more consistent than
before, with no loss of cushion.

EMI’s end cap system integrates a complete system of specially Service; GEON Vinyl division, commenting on the
designed components to process heat and shear-sensitive jointly developed End Cap System:
materials. Employing a 100% free flow valve, and a special
long-taper end cap-nozzle-tip assembly, eliminates turbulent “We knew we had to find a positive shut-off tip which

Filters foreign particles down to .010". Improves homogenization of

the melt. Minimizes downtime.
Materials must pass over multiple flutes at the infeed end of the filter element,
then pass over the barrier to the discharge flutes. The .010" clearance above the
barrier prevents larger particles or unplasticized pellets from passing through
the filter, while improving homogenization of the melt. Contaminants are held
in the infeed side, preventing plugged sub-gates and hot runner tips. Multiple
flutes minimize significant pressure drop. The filter has standard 1¹⁄₂" O.D. nozzle
body dimensions, uses standard nozzle tips and heater bands and the nozzle tip
is easily removed for cleaning.

replacement for your existing nozzle. The mixers have multiple flutes over
which materials must pass, blending materials together three times on their

EMI Performer shut-off nozzles help you optimize molding machine productivity by allowing the screw to

retract while the mold is opening and closing. You’ll shave cycle times to a minimum and increase fill rates
for high speed or large part molding. Positive, air-operated pin closing allows faster screw recovery and stops
drool in its tracks.

Designed to be virtually maintenance-free. Performers are

available to fit any machine and interchangeable nozzle tips
adapt to a variety of plastic materials and molds.
Alternate shut-off pins are available in 17-4PH stainless steel

and CPM-9V® tool steel for processing corrosive and abrasive

Carbide insert in the body maintains standard pin diameter
