I. OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson the learner’s should be able to:

A. Identify the days of the weeks in a calendar;


B. Arrange the seven days of the week appropriately; and
C. Solve problems involving time particularly days and week.

II. Subject Matter:
Topic: Identifying the days of the week in a calendar through solving problems

Materials: manila paper, cartolina, chalk/marker, charts

A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer

3. Checking of Attendance
4. Review
Ask the pupils to recall what was the previous topic all about. And
let the pupils to tell what was Telling Time by a Quarter/Half Hour. Telling
time by a quarter/half hour if the time is by quarter, the hour hand between
two numbers and the minute hand points to either 3, or 9. If the time is by
half hour, the hour hand is between two numbers and the minute hand
points to 6.

B. Developmental Activities
 Activity/Motivation:
 Teacher will present a problem on the board.
 Let the learners to read and understand the problem
given.
Mang Roman’s family helps one another. Each member
of the family has their own assignment at home. Mang
Roman, the father, goes to the farm every Monday, Aling
Venus, the mother, washes clothes everyday Tuesday. Alex,
the brother, cleans the house every Wednesday. Rose, the
sister, cultivates the garden plants every Thursday. Jerome,
the youngest, bathes the dog every Friday. They work
together every Saturday. They go to church every Sunday.

d. Discussion:
Focus these ideas:
Get the calendar and let the pupils look at it. The
teacher emphasizes on the days in the first week of the
month. The following is noted on the calendar:
 There are 30 days in a month.
 There are 7 days in a week.
 Sunday is the first day of the week, a day for all of
them to go to the church.
 Monday is the second day of the week, a day for
Mang Roman to go to the farm.
 Tuesday is the 3rd day of the week, a day for Aling
Venus to wash clothes.
 Wednesday is the 4th day of the week, a day for Alex
to clean the house.
 Thursday is the 5th day of the week, a day for Rose to
cultivates the garden plants.
 Friday is the 6th day of the week, a day for Jerome to
bathe the dog.
 Saturday is the 7th day of the week, a day for all of
them to work at home.
e. Generalization:
Remember these:

 There are 7 days in a week.


 They are Sunday, Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
Friday, and Saturday.

as the name of that day doesn’t contain the letter A. How many
bars of chocolate will I have eaten at the end of three weeks?
3. If yesterday and tomorrow both begin with the same letter of the
alphabet, what days was it three days ago?
4. RIDDLE ME THIS
Name the consecutive day without using Wednesday, Friday or
Sunday.
5. If today is Tuesday, what day will it seven days from now?

your classmate?
3. Let the children look at the calendar and count
the number of months. The teacher
names the months and asks children to
repeat the names.
4. Arrange the months in their correct sequence.
