In G.O. first read above, formal orders were issued for starting a Government Medical College at The Nilgiris District and to create a post of Special Officer cum Dean to look after the initial work for the establishment of a new Government Medical College at The Nilgiris District. 2. In the previous occasion when new Government Medical Colleges were started in Districts, the administrative control of the respective District Headquarters Hospital of the concerned District was transferred to the administrative control of Director of Medical Education from the control of Director of Medical and Rural Health Services to function as a Government Medical College Hospital and services of the staff and materials attached to the hospital were utilized for doing the preliminary works for starting the Medical College. 3. In his letter second read above, the Director of Medical Education has therefore requested the Government to issue necessary orders for transferring the Government Headquarters Hospital at The Nilgiris District which is functioning under the control of Director of Medical and Rural Health Services to the Director of Medical Education along with the infrastructure facilities like Site, Building, Equipments and Vehicles and including Medical, Para Medical and Administrative staff. 4. The Government after careful consideration direct that the District Headquarters Hospital at The Nilgiris which is functioning under the control of Director of Medical and Rural Health Services be transferred to the Director of Medical Education along with the infrastructure facilities like Site, Building, Equipments, and Vehicles and including Medical, Para Medical and Administrative staff, with immediate effect. a2 5.
