Riccardo Santato The Bandoneon Chords Tutor Version: 1.0 Copyright © 2007, Riccardo Santato - sanric@libero it Preface When it comes to learn the bandoneon, soon the musician realises that there are several difficulties that need to be challenged: the different frequencies that come out wether we are opening or closing the bellow, the breathe of the instrument and last but not least, the unusual disposition of the keyboard. Being myself a self-made musician, I realised | needed a way to learn chords on the left hand just to speed up my knowledge of the layout and to be able to make at least a less pityful execution of the music | was intended to play. I've searched the internet for a free "chord companion’, a sort of table to do chords on the 142 bandoneon with "Argentinian” disposition, but nothing. There are a lot of tables inside commercial bandoneon like Pedro Maffia's metodo but none of them is free. So | told myself: "If you don't find it, CREATE IT !". That's why you are reading this chord tutor. At the time I'm writing this tutor contains these kind of chords: major, minor, suspended, 7th and minor with the 7th. But the main goal of the project is another one: this book is distributed for free thru the net in order other musician may contribute to this project adding other chords, different voicings and everything they consider useful to be spreaded to the rest of us musicians. This could be the very first step to a collaborative bandoneon method; who knows ? Together with this PDF, the user wil find out the main pdf used to represent chords: send it to me with your suggestion and I'll add it to this book, obviously crediting you for your effort. During the pages you'll find out two symbols: means you have to press that button *\ means you can choose one of the two suggestions, the one you ) find more comfortable with. This work has been done with the invaluable help of Inkscape, a freeware drawing application that has made my job a lot better. | don't really know it this tutor is useful, but this is not important: for me, itis. Hoping this little work of mine can help you in better playing your instrument, "ll gladly wait for your feedback.
