BULK STORAGE STYPE:

Product such as tires, glass product, and drinks that come in large Qty and a large amount of storage space are often in
bulk storage. The advantage of bulk storage:

1. Reduce need to bulk for physical bins

2. Fast access to the containers
3. Clear structure of the warehouse
1. DEFINE STORAGE TYPE:

Blanck-Standard

1.pallet storage

1.storage bin 2..bulk storage

Mixed Storage 1. Several Non-Mixed HUs with the Same Product/Batch

Mixed storage HU not required- 1. Mixed Storage Not Allowed
2. Round Down WT Quantity to Single Unit

2.DEFINE STORAGE SCETION:

WH --- STORAGE TYPE ------ SCTION
ABEW---0040----------------------0001
3. DEFINE STORAGE BIN-/N/SCWM/LS10
Here create storage bin structure FOR STORAGE TYPE -0040
4. STORAGE BIN TYPE –P002 In this Customizing activity, you define your
storage bin types.
You can divide your storage bins into groups
according to their physical attributes (for example,
large bins, small bins).

During slotting, you can have the system

determine a preferred storage bin type.

In combination with the handling unit type, a

suitable storage bin is suggested to you during
putaway.

Activities
1. Decide whether you want to use
storage bin type determination or slotting.
2. Create your storage bin types with the
relevant descriptions.

5. Define Activity Area:

If you want Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) to create
activity areas and sort sequence automatically, use report
/SCWM/R_AREA_LGTYP_CREATE. This report creates the sort
sequences and creates the activity areas 1:1 from the storage
types. This means that in the IMG, you only need to Define
Activities.
6. Assign Storage Bins to Activity Areas
7. Define Sort Sequence for Activity Area In this IMG activity, you define the sorting rules within an activity area for all
activities except cross-line stock putaway. You define sort rules for cross-line stock
putaway, if required, under Define Sort Sequence for Cross-Line Stock Putaway.

Assign a sort sequence to each entry in Assign Storage Bins to Activity Areas. You
can assign sort sequences explicitly or implicitly.

Requirements: You have defined assignments of storage bins to activity areas.

Activities: Assign a sort sequence to a storage bin assignment for an activity area,
using one of the following options:

Explicitly enter the sorting

Enter the criteria (sorting, path direction, pick mode) for your storage bin
parts./Implicitly enter the sorting
Enter only the storage type. You can leave all remaining fields blank. The system
sorts by storage bin name in ascending order.
After you have executed this IMG activity, you can use the report
/SCWM/TLAGS_CREATE to create the sorting in the database.
8. Generate Activity Area from Storage Type

In this IMG activity, you can generate activity areas from the
warehouse number.

Activities: For the combination of warehouse number and storage

type, generate activity areas. You can extend the selection by
entering an activity.

9. /SCWM/SBST - Sort Storage Bins-(SAP EASY ACCESS –MASTER DATA)

10. Storage Type Search-GR
1. Define Storage Type Search Sequence for Putaway

2. Assign Storage Types to Storage Type Search Sequence

2.Define Putaway Control Indicator

3. Specify Storage Type Search Sequence for Putaway

4. Optimize Access Strategy for Storage Type Search: Putaway

(Storage type level storage section check is not select that’s why no need to configure storage section search type)

11. Storage Bin Determination

1. HU Types-Define

2. Define HU Types for Each Warehouse Number and Assign HU Type Group
3. Define HU Types for Each Storage Type
At Storage type level if HU type check is Selected then there maintain allowed HU types into the Storage type -0040

4. Define HU Types for Each Storage Bin Type

12. Putaway Rules (SPRO-MASTER DATA-PUTAWAY RULE-Storage Behavior: Bulk Storage)

1. Storage Type Control for Bulk Storage

If u select Partial qty is selected then in only HU partial qty allowed per bin

1. PART.QTY: If we select the Putaway Blocked indicator, wherever first stock removal task place then that bin will block
for further putaway until bin becomes empty, so that we can utilize other storage bin
2. If we specify time limit for 2days then Hus will allowed to the bin upto 2days and after 2days it will propose other bins
so that we can utilize FIFO methods perfectly.

2. Define Bulk Storage Indicators

3. Define Bulk Structures
