CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUNG OF STUDY
Bottlers Nepal Limited was first introduced in Nepal in 1973, imported from India. In Nepal, Coco-Cola
began operating local production in 1979, with the help of Royal family as the bottling partner.

Bottlers Nepal limited has two bottling plants namely Kathmandu, Balaju (Bottlers Nepal limited- BNL)
and Bharatpur (Bottlers Nepal (Terai) limited) which is 160 km far from Kathmandu, its capital.

After visiting the factory we got chance to know how the factory functions. The manufacturing factory is
divided into different departments such as; Production, Laboratory check, Packaging, Branding and Store
managing. Also we got to see the different HR teams working in a wide range of activities. Bottlers
Nepal Limited is the manufacturing company producing Coco-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Diet Coke, Maaza and
Kinley to hydrate consumers throughout the day.

Throughout our study, we also got to see the recycled water and bottles that were further used for the
manufacturing by the employees within the industry. In the same way, the employees seem very
satisfied by their jobs.Further, Bottlers Nepal is committed to give ultimate satisfaction to its consumers
in terms of quality and food safety and also has been benefit zing to the society.

1.2 Significance of study

Industrial visit is an important practical knowledge provided for the students to enhance their
thinking capability. The main significant of the study has given us to know how the industry operates
and are exposed before sending it to the market. It can further be explained on the points below:

 It helps to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real working world.
 It also sensitizes students to the practical challenges that is faced in the industry by the business
world.
 This study has grown our minds to think beyond the boundaries by exposing us to various
management concepts.
 It has also taught us how we can maintain the balance between the work and the society being
eco-friendly.
 Experiencing the inner world of the industry also helps us to clarify how ideas can be
implemented in a static form to attract the market.

Therefore, it has extended our minds to recognize how a simple idea can be turned into something big
out in the world of market.
1.3 Objectives of study
The overall study of the Industry visit was to gather the information’s regarding the Bottlers
Industry and study the Information system of the industry. The few objectives can be enlisted as:
 To get detail study about the information system used in the industry
 To know how the big industries are dependant with Information system
 To know the working condition and overall working environment of the company
 To know how vital role IS is playing in the company like cocacola

1.4 METHODOLOGY OF THE STUDY

The following descriptive methods were used:
Primary sector
As the primary methods of data collection, we had visited the industry ourselves and collected all the
required information’s with the pre-prepared questionnaires. we had an opportunity to get our answer
from an instructor Shree Krishna Devkota.

Secondary sector
As the secondary sector, we have used internet as our reference and also the catalog guide book which
we had got from the industry visit. The social Media (i.e internet) has further been our major sector of
study.

1.5 Limitations of study

Every study has its limitations and acts which does not helps to go beyond the boundaries. Similarly, we
also had few limitations through our study.

The report is only confined to the field visit at BOTTLERS NEPAL LIMITED and we had only limited
resources of information collected from the instructor of BOTTLERS NEPAL LIMITED .The Report would
have been more informative if we had the opportunity of conversation with their employees and
managing staffs as well. It is purely a study of users of Bottlers Nepal LTD soft drinks in Bharatpur only.

Also, we were not allowed to click pictures and note the correct information while we were within the
factory.

Therefore, the required information couldn’t be generated as required.
