Water Pollution

Did you know that 15 million children under the age

of 5 die each year because of diseases caused by drinking
water? Water pollution is a problem almost everywhere in
the world. Fortunately, people are doing something.
There are lots of other causes of how water gets
polluted. Some natural causes of water pollution are
volcanoes, animal poop, silt from storms, and floods.
Some man-made causes are littering, pesticides, and
littering.
One place that has a lot of dirty water is the
Indonesia Citarum. In fact it is the most polluted river
in the world. It is polluted because the law says that
facilities are supposed to clean up their waste water
before putting it back into the river, but there are lots
of facilities that continue to dump toxic chemicals into
the Indonesia Citarum which means the people that live
there have no clean water.
Finally, I will tell you about what people are doing
about water pollution. People are conserving water by
turning off the sink when you don’t need the water, so
less contaminated water needs treatment. People are also
helping clean up any litter they see and putting it in a
trash can, so less trash goes into oceans. One more
thing people are doing is not overusing pesticides and
fertilisers to prevent the water pollution it causes.
In conclusion, water pollution is bad for the Earth,
and we need to fix that. To help water pollution you can
do many things.
