Letter of Recommendation

I take this opportunity to recommend Mr. S Kaushik Ranganathan for the Master’s Program at your
prestigious institution. I have known him over the course of his under graduate education. Having taught
Kaushik Digital Systems in the third semester and Digital Signal Processing in the fourth semester as part
of his undergrad curriculum, I found him to be an extremely dedicated student with good work ethics.
Kaushik stood for understanding the basic underlying principles of complex problems and was very
skilled at applying the theoretical nous to practical scenarios. He was extremely attentive and observant
during lectures. He demonstrated clear understanding of the subject in his assignments with cogent
illustrations of the abstract involved.

I was particularly pleased with his assignments in the Digital Signal Processing course where he
demonstrated his Mathematical ability in tackling various problems as part of the coursework. The
aforementioned course required extensive application of Mathematical concepts like Laplace theorem
and Fourier analysis which he was able to accomplish with ease. I found his approach to solving
problems quite unconventional and out of the box. This was evident when I was assessing the test
performances of the class and I found his approach to couple of questions seemed to be different from
the rest yet fundamentally correct. His performance in assessments in my class was consistently good.

Apart from the above mentioned qualities he never hesitated to get his doubts cleared be it in the
theoretical or practical course. His inquisitiveness pertaining to any given subject is commendable. He
would restrain from adhering to just the prescribed study materials. His grasp over the subject and his
insights in completing the assignments and projects are testaments to his appetite for knowledge. He
would actively contribute to ongoing discussions in the class. He displayed a keen interest pertaining to
depths of any given subject and would regularly attend technical symposiums and conferences. His
technical abilities and interest in gaining practical exposures are backed up by the fact that he secured a
glorious internship in Airports Authority of India, New Delhi.

Having seen Kaushik grow intellectually over the course of his study here, I see an intelligent individual
instilled with attributes necessary to excel in any chosen field. I am glad to see Kaushik apply for a
Master’s program at your university. I affirm my faith in his capability to perform well in his graduate
studies. I wish him good luck for all his future endeavors.

Regards,

(Aditya Agarwal)
