Papua New Guinea is a developing country and most of its organizations and small

enterprises still have their systems run manually, one of such business is the Taurama

Fitness Centre which is located in the National Capital District (NCD) known as the

capital city. Taurama Fitness Centre was founded in 2009, by Johnson Waldford. This

gym is engaged in providing service to the public both men and women of all ages, from

all walks of life. Taurama Fitness Center in fact really needs a gym management system

to cater for the problems. A gym management system is an information system that

manages data information daily and helps record information and transaction from

members and non-members.

Papua New Guinea Is still a developing country that every organication and small

company in the said country Is still manually recording the datas of every customers of

the gym. Taurama Fitness Centre is one of the businesses in their country that still

experiencing such things. They need a system that can help their business to store the

important records of the business like the Gym Management System that compile the

records of the Gym.

“GYMROOM SYSTEM BOOKING” (2010)

Gymroom system booking (2010) are booking software specialists and provide

automated online booking solutions for any type of service. An online system is

accessible at any time from any place with a computer or mobile device (Kenneth E.

Kendall & Julie E, Kendall, 8th Edition, 2010). Easy Gym has provided online booking
system to the users by providing them an opportunity to advertise and receive bookings

from the users. It is involved booking and payment from customers to allow users to

quickly and easily make their own bookings and payments online. The purpose of the

system is to make the daily operations run more easily and efficiently and increase the

profit of the gym enhanced the image of gym room.

Easy Gym has provided an online booking system called Gymroom System Booking

which allowing the users or customers to book their own schedule and to pay online.

The purpose of this system is to have a faster booking on their Gym than going

personally to the Gym just to book a schedule in their gym.

“Smart Gym Management System” is for those who run a gym business. Before doing

anything we did a decent research on major difficulties for gym owners. We examined

carefully about how to make a huge registering system without failure as well as

different functions for different kind of user depending on their privilege. The Gym

Management requires a system that will handle all the necessary and minute details

easily and proper database security accordingly to the user. They requires software,

which will store data about members, employees, products, payroll, receipts of

members & all transactions that occur in Gym. The online gym management system is

user-friendly application. This automated system makes all functionality easier for both

owners and customers. It is very simple in design and to implement. The system

requirements are very low. System resources and the system will work in almost all

configurations.
Smart Gym Management System is a system that can handle the necessary details

easily. It can store the datas about the members, employees, products, payroll and

receipts of members and all other transactions of the Gym. It is more convenient and

easy to manage than using logbooks to put every important datas of the Gym

Our Gym Management Software is a gym and health club membership

management system. You can keep records on your members, their memberships, and

have quick and easy communication between you and your members. Most newer

health clubs offer group exercise classes that are conducted by certified fitness

instructors. Many types of group exercise classes exist, but generally these include

classes based on aerobics, cycling (spin cycle), boxing or martial arts, high intensity

training, step, regular and hot (Bikram) yoga, pilates, muscle training, and self-defense

classes such as Krav Maga and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Gym Management also includes a

booking system, point of sale, banking, accounting, concessions and has a range of

reports that help in the management of your club.

This System Management System divides the datas of the Gym depends on the

exercise classes that the customers avail. They have different types of group exercise

classes like aerobics, cycling, boxing or martial arts and many more. By having this kind

of System can help the Gym to have an organized management system. Just like in our

system, that also have different forms where they can store every customers details in

the different classes they have inside the gym.

through the integration of the proper technologies that will allow them to become more

Cotabato Provincial Computerized Library System Neil Mutia

Cotabato Provincial Computerized Library System is using a computerized setup

featuring the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) System, barcode system and an

E-library station. The upgrading and transformation of the provincial library aims to

keep pace with the ongoing technological advancement in the information sector and

to fulfill the mission to improve the quality of service for the reading public.

The OPAC allows speedy access of library materials. The Barcode scanners and labels

ensure that all library collections can speedily be located for research and inventory

purposes. The E-library station which has four computers can be used for online

browsing in accordance to prescribed internet hours of the provincial government. It

also provides access to some documents of the National Library of the Philippines and

locates some documents lodged at other provincial libraries.

Under the new automated set-up, books can only be borrowed through a bar-coded

Reader’s Card. Researched materials meanwhile can be reproduced by library users

through the library’s new facilities with corresponding fees

The library system of the Cotabato Provincial uses an online database that helps them

to facilitate their book search service and its information. They use a barcode scanner to

quickly locate the book and find out which shelf it is on. This system helps the library to

have a good and faster service because all the informations are already compiled inside

the system. They are interrelated, because, like in our research the Gym Management

System makes it easier to find each customers information and includes all the

necessary information of the Gym. Meanwhile, the Library management system in

Cotabato facilitates book search not only with the help of the Library Management

system but also includes the barcode scanner that also helps locate the book on each

shelves.

LIBRARY MANAGEMENT: USER MONITORING AND REPORT SYSTEM OF

COLEGIO DE SAN JUAN DE LETRAN CALAMBA

The study aimed to develop a computerized user monitoring and report system for the

College Library of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba. The system was designed

to use barcode scanner for easy and fast access of logging-in and out of patrons,

monitor and identify frequent patrons, and generate necessary reports. The features of

the system covered organized information of patrons, security of records, and receiving
comments/messages from server for pending transactions. The need assessment of the

system was done by interviewing the Library Services Department staff. The gathered

data were used to identify the current process of monitoring patrons and printing out

reports. From these, the design of the system was conceptualized and developed; the

testing phase followed next where the chosen respondents evaluated the system to

determine if it meets the standard they looked for by answering the questionnaires given

to them; finally, frequency and percentage were utilized to present the results of the

evaluation in tables. Results showed that the respondents strongly agreed in the

capability of the software. The system performed effectively because it improved the

process of monitoring and creating necessary reports of patrons who have entered the

library.

The researchers aim to develop a computerized user and monitoring of reports of

Colegio De San Juan De Letran of Library System. The capabilities of this system are to

organize the information of students that is using the library, the necessary reports and

pending transactions. They also use a barcode scanner to easily monitor the logging in

and out of the students. It is connected to our study, because like in our research the

Gym management system also monitoring the attendance of the customers and the in

and out of every member of the gym.

University Library Modernization (2019)

Library automation enabled the electronic Union Catalog of the UPD network of 33

libraries, including the Extension program in Pampanga and the Main Library with more

than 800,000 records, accessible within the campus and through the World Wide Web.

These libraries already have barcoders, barcode labels and keepers, magnetic strips,
sensitizers-desensitizers and gate for Circulation purposes, and as part of their library

security system. A number of records were converted from paper to digital format. The

former system used by the University Library prior to the present MAELISA. Also

converted from paper files were 58,536 bibliographic records of five Filipiniana and

Special Collections: (1) Book analytics, i.e. biographies, illustrations, plays, short stories

and speeches contained in books; (2) Unclassified Monographic Records including art

works and personal collections of Teodoro Agoncillo, Roberto Concepcion, Oscar

Evangelista, Guillermo Guevara, Eliseo Pajaro, Estrella Solidum, Emanuel Soriano and

Abelardo & Trinidad Subido; (3) Positive prints of the Harnish Collection; (4) Posters

File; (5) Vernacular Collection including Bikolano, Cebuano, Pampango and Tagalog.

The university library has 58,536 bibliographic records that is previously in paper only,

but now it is now digitally accessible. Likewise, the Slim and Shape Fitness Center

relies on their clients' records to make the process of finding past transactions and other

information of their customers is very slow. Unlike Slim and Shape Fitness Center is

only using a logbook to record their customers information which is causing a poor

managing in customers information. The Gym Management System can help their

business for better data management.

Central Luzon Drug Rehabilitation Center

Central Luzon Drug Rehabilitation Center, a non-government organization who accepts

people who are suffering from addiction, such as drug addiction, alcohol addiction,

pornography addiction and many more. Records are important and crucial aspect of the

organization, an effective and advance record management makes the organization

process more systematic with greater accuracy and efficiency with the assistance of
information technology and computer applications. Records Management is an

organization’s management of all records (whatever their format) from their creation,

through their maintenance (record keeping), to their disposition. Disposition includes

archiving and destruction. This is known as the record lifecycle. Records, information

and knowledge travel through a life-cycle from their creation or receipt, through

maintenance (including record keeping). Record management is very important in their

organization it is a way for them to ensure the records of their patients and monitoring

the patient and the lack of a better records management system affects their process.

Central Drug Drug Rehabilitation is a non-governmental organization that helps people

with Drug addiction, alcohol addiction, pornography addiction and many more. The

records of their patients are important to them, as they monitor their conditions as to

whether their patient's condition has changed or not. Another important factor is the

personal information of their patients. They do not have the difficulty of listing their

customers' records because they use Microsoft Excel to store the records of their

patrons, but their files is still not secure, because they have a chance of being corrupted

and difficult to maintain. The same goes for Slim & Shape Fitness Center but they use

paper to store their customers' data that they sometimes lose.

A Study on the Existing Records Management Practices of Sangguniang

Panlungsod ng San Jose Del Monte

Silagpo (2008) conducted a research entitled, “A Study on the Existing Records

Management Practices of Sangguniang Panlungsod ng San Jose Del Monte”, to know

the existing records management practices of the Sanggunian with the goal of

upgrading and standardizing the records management practices of this office. The
respondents in the study were the secretary and staff of the institution. The data

gathered were compared with the best practices according to ISO 15489-1 and ISO

15489-2. Findings of the study revealed that Sanggunian just file/pile records in a rusty

steel cabinet placed outside of the secretary’s office. The filing system used differs from

one employee to another. Because of this, records were usually misplaced or lost.

There commendations of the study included strict observation of the ISO 15489-1 and

ISO15489-2; there should also be a sufficient budget appropriation for the maintenance

of records; records management personnel should undergo trainings on different

archival and records management functions based on ISO 15489-1 and ISO 15489-2.

The Sangguniang Panlunsod of San Jose Del Monte wants to upgrade their record

management, because they only store the records in a paper and pile it in a rusty steel

cabinet. Because of this, the records are usually misplaced or lost. In Gym Management

System, It will help the business to avoid the misplacing of the records and the

important datas of the Gym.
