Most major crimes aren’t usually
solved as a result of brilliant
investigation by the Police, but as a
direct result of information provided
by the public – the missing pieces.
Crime Stoppers Bermuda is a community action
programme that was created so that anyone could
safely provide information on criminal activity without
fear of exposure or retribution. Rewards of up to $2,000
are also offered for information leading to a successful
arrest or seizure of illegal drugs and firearms.
The Board of Directors, the governing body of Crime
Stoppers Bermuda, is comprised of a group of civilian
volunteers, while the programme itself is tri-partied,
involving Law Enforcement, Media, and the Community.
The programme’s coordinator links information received
with the appropriate law enforcement agencies. Crime
Stoppers Bermuda is affiliated with Crime Stoppers
International, who have programmes operating in
communities around the world.
With Crime Stoppers Bermuda, everyone can become
involved in the fight against crime in Bermuda and make
our community a better place to live, work, go to school
or visit as a tourist or on business.

• The first step is to make the call – phone 800-8477 find the Crime Stoppers
(TIPS). Your call is free from any phone and is completely
anonymous. It will not appear on any telephone bill or
Bermuda number
record anywhere. quickly and easily.
• Your call is answered in Florida by Miami-Dade
Crime Stoppers. It cannot be traced. Information is
relayed back to Crime Stoppers Bermuda electronically
and relayed to the relevant law enforcement agencies.
• You will not be asked for your name, address or phone
number, just for information about a crime.
• If you want to give additional information or claim a
reward, you will be given a code number, so that you
can call back 30 days later to check if you are eligible.
• If your information led to an arrest, you will be eligible
for a reward. You decide how your reward will be paid
– the place and method of payment is determined
completely by you and relayed to the co-ordinator.
• Alternatively, go online to www.crimestoppers.bm and
follow the instructions to submit a web tip. The process
is completely secure and anonymous and provides an
effective means of safely communicating with Crime
Stoppers Bermuda. If you wish, you can return to the
website to provide additional information to your tip
at any time through the same secure and encrypted
interface, as long as you remember your electronically
generated password, which will be provided to you
when you submit the original tip.
