ABSTRACT
Goods and Services Tax is an indirect tax levied on the supply of goods and services,
implemented on 1st July 2017. GST has replaced many indirect tax laws that previously
existed in India. The aim of the study is to know the consumers awareness towards GST in
Cherpulassery Municipality, Palakkad (Dist), Kerala after the implementation in India. The

study found that the majority of the consumers are agreed that GST is a simple and
transparent tax system and it helps to increase the revenue of the Government.
