3. EXECUTION.
a Concept of Operations.
(a) While in Garrison, Mortuary Affairs operations are not conducted. If there is
an Active Duty casualty within the Unit in garrison, the Casualty Assistance office at each installation will
handle the event.
(b) Divisions will ensure maximum Mortuary Affairs personnel participation in all mass casualty
exercises on their installations. Division MA NCO will oversee subordinate Unit’s participation, and report
findings to Corps MA NCO.
(a) Unit Commanders will ensure that Search and Recovery (S&R) training is
conducted semi-annually.
(b) The senior Division Mortuary Affairs NCO will ensure that all Search and Recovery personnel
are properly vetted and trained in accordance with JP 4-06 and maintain a log of each Unit’s training
status.
(c) Units are responsible for training of non-MA Unit search and recovery teams.
(d) MA Units or Mortuary Affairs Collection Point (MACP) teams may be requested through
command channels for integration into scheduled Combined Training Center (CTC) rotations. Requests
will be approved by FORSCOM depending upon Unit availability.
(e) The Division Mortuary Affairs NCO will provide assistance with readiness inspections and
back up training.
(f) If additional training support is required, a mobile training team (MTT) may be requested from
the Joint Mortuary Affairs Center (JMAC) located at Ft. Lee, VA.
