 Introduction to

Sarda Magnets
Sarda Magnets has been a brand synonymous with Industrial magnets for the
last six decades. We are an ISO 9001:2008 company specialised in providing
B2B, BOT model for design, manufacture, installation and service of magnetic
equipment for work holding, clamping, separation and lifting systems, etc. With
innovative and advanced design, outstanding performance and unsurpassed
reliability, our products are internationally accepted..

We focus on upgrading ourselves continuously with technological innovations

in order to meet our customers changing needs for modernization. We have an
“In-House R&D Centre” registered with DSIR, Govt. of India and recently we
have joined hands with International Institutes to jointly develop products with
advanced features and new technology.

Inspired by our first patent of MAGNASLOT (a magnetic bed with T slots giving
customers a work holding solution for all kinds of jobs), we have developed
several new products and patents for fifteen more innovations are in process.

We are proud recipient of prestigious awards from the many Ministerial

Institutions for the last 10 years regularly.

Why use Magnets
• Reliable and safe method of handling.
• Requires less manpower.
• Material can be handled from a distance.
• Wooden reapers/ dunnage is not required.

• Less maintenance; low running cost.

Why use Electro Permanent Magnets

• Requires electricity only during switching ON/ OFF for a few
seconds. During lift operation, no electricity is consumed.
• No need of battery backup.
• Lifted load will not fall even during power failure.
• Performance constant throughout the day.
• No moving parts. No overheating of coils.
• Does not leave residual magnetism in the load.
• In accordance with EN 13155:2009.

Magnetic Circuit
A typical magnetic circuit comprises of
• Body – made of mild steel.
• Coil – copper conductor.
• Reversible magnets – AlNiCo.
• Non-reversible magnet – NdFeB or SmCo magnets.
• Poles – Mild Steel.
• Sealing by Epoxy.

In a body of mild steel reversible magnets are placed which

are surrounded by an electrical coil. The magnetic polarity of
the reversible magnets can be changed as desired by passing
adequate current through the coil. The steel pole is placed on
top of the reversible magnet. On the sides of the pole, we place
the non-reversible magnet.

EPM Fixed Spreader Beam
Features: • Magnets can be selectively switched according to the
length of the plate being handled.
• EPMs suspended from fixed length spreader beam.
• Smaller Plates – Internal magnets are switched ON.
• EPM Modules are placed so that the maximum range
of plates are covered. • Larger Plates – All the magnets are switched ON.

EPM Telescopic Beam
Features: • The length of the moving beam can be adjusted
depending on the length of the plate to be handled.

EPM Vertical Plate Handling System
Features:
• Handle plate in vertical or horizontal direction.
• EPMs suspended from fixed length spreader beam.
• EPM Modules are placed so that the maximum range of
plates are covered.
• Simple self-tilting mechanism. No additional actuation.
• Horizontally placed plates can be stacked in vertical
position or Vertically stacked plates in horizontal
position by appropriate placement of the magnets.
• Does not require additional person for putting plate
clamps/ slings/ chains.
• “Inching” feature –When the magnet is switched ON, it
lifts more than single thin plate. Using inching feature,
we reduce magnetic power slowly such that additional
plate, if lifted, is released. This is used to make sure that
only one plate is handled at a time.
• Double Mag Cycle - ensures the safe lifting of
the load at more than 100% SWL.
• Power Control – Magnetic Power can be varied in
4 steps. Lower magnetic power for lifting thin plate.
• Magnets can be selectively switched according to the
length of the plate being handled.
• Smaller Plates – Only internal magnets are
switched ON.
• Larger Plates – All the magnets are switched ON.
• Radio Remote Control – Operates from a convenient
