B. Internet as a brilliant catalyst of collaboration, innovation and
creativity, and more importantly, for development of our industrial
economies and societies.
The Internet today is a widespread information infrastructure, the initial prototype
of what is often called the National (or Global or Galactic) Information Infrastructure. Its
history is complex and involves many aspects – technological, organizational, and
community. And its influence reaches not only to the technical fields of computer
communications but throughout society as we move toward increasing use of online tools to
accomplish electronic commerce, information acquisition, and community operations. Nikola
Tesla toyed with the idea of a “world wireless system” in the early 1900s, and visionary
thinkers like Paul Otlet and Vannevar Bush conceived of mechanized, searchable storage
systems of books and media in the 1930s and 1940s. Still, the first practical schematics for
the Internet would not arrive until the early 1960s, when MIT’s J.C.R. Licklider popularized
the idea of an “Intergalactic Network” of computers. Shortly thereafter, computer scientists
developed the concept of “packet switching,” a method for effectively transmitting electronic
data that would later become one of the major building blocks of the Internet.

The first workable prototype of the Internet came in the late 1960s with the
creation of ARPANET, or the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network. Originally
funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, ARPANET used packet switching to allow
multiple computers to communicate on a single network. The technology continued to grow
in the 1970s after scientists Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf developed Transmission Control
Protocol and Internet Protocol, or TCP/IP, a communications model that set standards for
how data could be transmitted between multiple networks. ARPANET adopted TCP/IP on
January 1, 1983, and from there researchers began to assemble the “network of networks”
that became the modern Internet. The online world then took on a more recognizable form in
1990, when computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web. While it’s
often confused with the Internet itself, the web is actually just the most common means of
accessing data online in the form of websites and hyperlinks. The web helped popularize the
Internet among the public, and served as a crucial step in developing the vast trove of
information that most of us now access on a daily basis.

Internet is a global computer network providing a variety of information and

communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using standardized
communication protocols. It is a system architecture that has revolutionized communications
and methods of commerce by allowing various computer networks around the world to
interconnect. The simplest way of explaining the Internet is to call it "the network of
networks." It is the connection of computer networks around the world into one entity, so to
speak. It is not one big computer, but rather numerous networked computers connected
together.

It is generally defined as a global network connecting millions of computers. More

than 190 countries are linked into exchanges of data, news and opinions. Unlike online
services, which are centrally controlled, by design, the Internet is decentralized. Each Internet
computer, called a host, is independent. Operators can choose which Internet services to use
and which local services to make available to the global community. Remarkably, this
anarchy by design works exceedingly well. There are a variety of ways to access the Internet.
Most online services offer access to some Internet services. It is also possible to gain access
through a commercial Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Importance of internet in our life is similar to oxygen to this modern world. It is tough
to be happy for few people without the internet. Today, it is all about online reputation,
internet making, online business, social media presence and internet banking. That is why the
importance of internet in our life matter. It is very important because it is the limitless
space where people have access infinite amounts of information. The internet is where a
large amount of knowledge comes from. Humans are fortunately curious creatures who
tend to become hungry for new knowledge to feed off. This knowledge will most likely be
used on a personal level, but it can also be converted and used in terms of education and
the overall understanding of life. The internet is beautiful and limitless. The internet has
undoubtedly become a huge part of our lives. Many people in today’s generation are relying
in the internet to do a lot of different tasks.

Transition of widespread communication and information access through computer

networks that uses the internet protocol. Thus, it helps to access and a firmly use and transact
to internet networking. The Internet Protocol (IP) is the method or protocol by which data is
sent from one computer to another on the Internet. Each computer on the Internet has at least
one IP address that uniquely identifies it from all other computers on the Internet.

The most widely used version of IP today is Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4).
However, IP Version 6 (IPv6) is also beginning to be supported. IP as a transport protocol,
can operate on many different network infrastructures where in it is not bound to a specific
technology or topology. IP traffic can be transported on virtually any existing network
equipment and is not limited to specific device requirements. The IP protocol can co-exist
with other network protocols, thus different services can share a common network
infrastructure concurrently. Last but not least using IP as a protocol basis supports the
convergence between the A/V and the IT world, e.g. PCs may participate in the A/V stream
exchange and concurrently use other services - all through the same network connector.

Modern technologies turned into advancement in order to connect to the internet had
made it even possible. Different broadband modern technologies including satellite, cable,
telephone wires, wireless or mobile connections. Broadband internet services are usually
provided over a standard telephone line. It gives much faster access to the internet, allowing
to download large files quickly, such as video and music. There are still other options that can
be consider and that include cable, satellite and Wi-Fi. Cable companies offer high bandwidth
services over existing cable networks. A cable modem can offer a similar speed to ADSL
services. Broadband internet access can be brought into your home via satellite. The
advantage of using satellite broadband services is that it can be used anywhere. There are also
Wi-Fi hotspots which can give it may access to fixed-line broadband at different locations.
Usually, there are no usage limits. Hotspots are normally quicker than mobile broadband for
browsing and downloading.

Businesses have responded to the opportunities emerging from Internet development

and expansion in various ways. Many functions related to ordering and paying for goods and
services, for example, have been placed “on line”, creating new systems which either
complement or replace existing systems. Moreover, the Internet has greatly enhanced the
development and use of auctions to trade goods and services. In addition to the traditional
selling of items to high bidders via auction, reverse auctions – where buyers award parties the
right to supply goods or services to low bidders via auction – have become more common,
particularly in the business community.

Importance of internet in business has been emerged in today’s generation prior by

the inventions of Digital Marketing, Internet banking and eCommerce business models. The
Internet is providing great benefits for business communication. The Internet is the easiest
way for a business to connect with customer and clients. The business organisation is using
the high-speed internet to speed up the production. Internet technology invented new methods
of doing business. Internet is important for business development. Internet technology
provides powerful communication and marketing tools.

In addition, the Internet has prompted the development of new business models aimed
at capitalising on the tremendous customer base that can be built for goods and services at
relatively low cost. The models are based on the notion that increasing audience and sales can
ultimately translate into sizeable profits, and that this longer-term potential should take
precedence over shorter term profitability.

By using the Internet and testing the importance of the Internet in business themselves
is the most important thing that business owners can learn and experiment with today. Any
small idea can be a big business for tomorrow. Google, Facebook, YouTube, Linked In,
Amazon, Alibaba etc. once were nothing more than an idea but these innovative business
owners added the power of internet technology in business. This is how the Internet is
powering up businesses.

Internet plays a vital beneficiary amongst to an individual through communication,

information and entertainment availability and disadvantage associated by crimes, morality
and lifestyle. Modern life has become easier and the people of the world have to thanks to the
immense contribution of the internet technology to communication and information sharing.
There is no doubt that internet has made our life become easier and more convenient. We can
use internet to communicate with people around the world, doing business by using internet,
make new friend and know different cultures, searching information, studying and etc.

Firstly, the internet can let a person to communicate with people in virtually any parts
of the world through the internet or e-mail, without having to leave his room. E-mail allowed
peoples to communicate with minimum of times. It is now possible to send a message to any
parts of the world through a simple e-mail address and the message is delivered in matter of
seconds. Besides, there are a lot of messengers services in offering. With the help of such
services, it has become very easy to establish a kind of global friendship where you can share
your thoughts and explore other cultures. The internet also allows people within an
organization to easily communicate and share informations.
Second, information is probably the biggest advantages that internet offers. Internet is
a virtual treasures trove of information. Any kinds of information on any topic are available
on the internet. The search engines like Google, Yahoo are at your service through the
internet. There is a huge amount of information available on the internet for just about every
subjects known to man, ranging from government law and services, trade fairs and
conferences, market information, new ideas and technical support, the lists is simply endless.
We can uses these search engines, websites dedicated to different subjects and large amount
of articles and papers are available for perusal in a matter of a few seconds.

Thirdly, entertainments are another popular reasons why many people prefer to surf
the internet. In fact, the internet has becomes quite successful in trapping the multifaceted
entertainment industry. Downloading games or just surfing the celebrity websites are some of
the uses people have discovered. Besides that, there are numerous games that can be
downloaded for free. The internet has also revolutionized the entertainments industry. People
nowadays no need to go to a cinema hall to watch your favourite movie. Instead of watching
movies at cinema now have companies offering their services where you just can downloads
or order your favourite movie and watch it with a fast internet connection. Besides that, you
also can download other important software or your favourite music in a matter of few
minutes. There are a number of shareware programs that allow you to share and download
your favourite music and videos. The internet also allows people from different cultures and
background to connect with each other. Internet gaming is a huge business and allow
enthusiastic gamers to compete against each other in games even when they are located far
apart. Likewise dating has also allowed people to find their prospective soul mates.

However, for all its advantages and positive aspects, the internet has its dark and ugly
side too. The recent rumours that mongering about racial riots in Kuala Lumpur which in
created a furores, just goes to show how this tool, with its unrivalled reputation as an
information assassinations and company reputations can suffer if internet facilities are
abused, especially by those with an axe to grind. Besides that some students will spend too
much of time through the internet. Students are likely to neglect their studies. Students might
lose concentrate on their studies because they spent too much time on internet. Some of them
even divide their time to do homework but they spent their time on watching movie or
chatting with their friends through internet.
The Internet is providing firms with new ways to conduct business and exchange and
communicate information and ideas. In doing so, it is enabling companies to improve
efficiency and develop novel ways to co-ordinate activities. Internal firm organisation and
relations with employees and shareholders, for example, are being affected, as are the
external relationships that firms have with suppliers, customers, competitors and other
parties. Every company are using e-mail in business. The convenience of e-mail has allowed
businesses to expand and communicates with their vendors and customers located all over the
world in records times. Personal communication has also become easier thanks to e-mail.
Chat rooms, video conferencing are some of the latest additions in this technology and these
have allowed peoples to chat in real time.

Further, in as much as the Internet expands the reach of a business to the entire world
wide web on every company, this can also be a hindrance because target consumers are
constantly bombarded with competency. Security can also be an issue with online businesses,
and can manifest itself as a threat in several ways. First, the online business’ website could be
compromised, allowing a hacker to manipulate the information there; for instance, payments
may be redirected to the hacker’s account. Second, the online business’s customer
information may be violated. Third, in addition to stealing account numbers or redirecting
funds, an online business also has to worry about a hacker stealing confidential consumer
information.
.
The multipurpose of internet on business, science and industry has been recognized as
the most powerful tool in 21st century. The internet can be life changing for veterans and
military families. It can ensure communication access with each other from a long period of
time. It can provide remote health care services that are desperately needed but otherwise
unattainable. I’ve even seen it enable a homeless veteran to transition into high paid coding
job. A reliable broadband access for rural communities, along with the benefits it will bring
to those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

The internet has made it possible for the liability demand to improve education sector.
It also enhances numerous computer programs to be shared with different generations in
different parts of the world. Important information such health, environment and educational
facts are easily available to any person with an internet connection.
The innovation of internet has been demand into business, science and industry.
Internet is a technological tool whose effects on business – already clearly evident in some
firms and sectors – are likely to grow significantly in the future. Development has been
particularly dynamic since 1993, when the first Web browsers became generally available.
The dynamism has been enhanced by a number of structural factors, including: continuous
development of higherspeed, lower-cost computers; related increases in the power of virtually
all electronic devices; rapid expansion of networks; and accelerated distribution of digital
applications over a broadening range of economic sectors.

Science and industry has been emerged to global internet access for it embodies a
premier electronic resources, comprehensive print materials, and services for start-ups and
established businesses seeking expansion, and for job seekers from entry to executive levels.
Advisory services are offered on-site by experienced business owners, career coaches,
certified financial planners and financial fitness coaches.

There is no doubt about the fact that the internet is permeating and transforming most,
if not all, aspects of our societies and economies. It is a brilliant catalyst of collaboration,
innovation and creativity, and more importantly, for development of our industrial economies
and societies. Within the last few years, Google has tripled its users, and Facebook and
MySpace have attracted and stimulated millions of users that can come together on a social
platform. The internet has become incredibly mobile and capable of supporting a wide variety
of services and applications that would never have been even predicted before.

Contrary to popular belief, at the current rate of technological development,

statisticians predict we will experience a substantial amount of progress in the next 100 years,
equal to what we witnessed in the past 20,000 years. The internet is becoming increasingly
pervasive and mobile, and it continues to evolve as a complex and resourceful virtual space.
The global annual traffic in 2014 showed a substantial rise since people from all regions of
the world have become increasingly active online.
