The RSP to Gujarat was to document the magneficent Bohravads situated

in dhanera ,Gujarat. These are big, Beautiful row houses built by the
Bohro community. Bohra community
migrated from Yemen and setted
in North Gujarat 100 years Back
for trading purpose
The oldest house was built in 1943. It
is a dong rectangular house of ara
around 20x100 ft or 20x80 ft. All
the houses are having two two floors
and a roof mainly used for storge
purpose. they had extended Balconies
on the front elevation. They were
highly carved and furniture was
painted with Paintings to Decorate the walls. The furniture was made
using Burmatak wood, while the House
was made up using shiesham wood
and lime stone . their plinth level is about 6 to 7 feet high form the
road for their privacy.

Vohrawads that belong to Dawoodi Bohra community. Bohras made


their money trading in Africa and Arabia. Like the Marwari
community of Shekhawati, Bohras also put their money in their
homeland by buildings rows and rows of these beautiful and stately
havelis and mansions.
