Focus on Formwork
Considering the benets that formwork brings, it is certain that its demand will only continue to shoot
upwards. In today's competitive market, contractors and builders are facing tough competitions which
necessitates the use of formwork even more. India is expected to become the third-largest construction
market globally by 2022. The rapid growth of urbanization, major investments in the infrastructure segment
will drive the Indian construction market. With such growth prospects across construction segments, there
are opportunities in the Indian formwork market.
The construction industry is constantly changing, as structures grow taller and oor plates bigger, end-
users are looking for formwork systems that are cost-effective, light, reusable, safe, easy to assemble and
dismantle, durable and exible. In this edition of Emaglounge, we have focused on the different types of
formwork, good practices of formwork, the design aspects of formwork and the demand for formwork for
mass housing.
