Operations Interest Group

Description
The Operations Interest Group (OIG) is the Operation’s Academic Interest Group of IIM Lucknow. It
aims to promote interest in the field of Operations Management through interactive games, quizzes,
case competitions & newsletters. The Group puts continuous efforts to explore the horizons of
Operations/SCM and share them with everyone. Following are the brief description of the activities
performed by OIG:

1. Conduct events to promote Operations as an interest and career option among students
2. Provide detailed analysis of important breakthrough events in the field of operations
3. Assist in placement related preparation for both 1st and 2nd year students
4. Acts as interface between organizations & institutions interested in collaborating with IIM Lucknow
on supply chain front
5. Keep the students informed with the latest trends in Supply Chain Management and Operations

Activities

1. Beer Game - Simulation Event based on supply-chain dynamics

2. Conundrum- Quiz and supply chain analysis and strategy based board game
3. Opsyrus - National Level White Paper Competition that would encourage students to explore
the breadths & widths of Operations Management
4. Trilogy- National level flagship event based on 3 rounds comprising of quiz, online simulation
game and case study that would test the participants widely on their knowledge in the domain
of Operations Management
5. Cyclops- A national case study competition based on real-world problems in operations.
6. Newsletters - A series of newsletters on the current topics of supply chain management
7. Final/Lateral/Summer placement preparation material
8. Summer prep sessions for junior batch from subject matter experts from the industry
