Goal
How to enable security for FSG in order to restrict access to row sets , column sets or
other Financial Statement Generator components so that someone else cannot modify
these.

Solution
The access to specific FSG components such as Row Set, Column Set, Content Set etc
can be secured by
creating a Definition Access Set as below:

1. Navigate to Setup : Financials : Definition Access Sets > Define following form will
appear.
2. Enter a name for Definition Access Set: e.g. FSG and Save.
3. Navigate to Setup : Financials : Definition Access Sets > Assign and query the
responsibility for which access to Row Sets and Column Sets should be restricted.
Automatic privileges can be defined here as shown in the following screen shot or other
wise these priviliges can defined while assigning the access set to row/ column set.

4. Enter the Data Access Set created and tick the needed privileges: Use, View , Modify.
Now save.

5. Navigate to Reports : Define: Row Set, query the Row Set, check flag Enable Security
as shown below.
6. Click button Assign Access: on the form opened, enter the Definition Access Set
created at step 2. Select the types of access that should be allowed (tipically Use and
View) and save.

7. Go back to the Definition Access Set and enter:

- Definition Type : select 'FSG Row Set'
- Definition Name: the Row Set name for which security was just enabled at steps 5-6.
- Select the access type to allow for the Row Set: Use and View
8. Repeat steps 5->7 for a Column Set or other FSG component that is going to be
secured.

9. Verify that users with this responsibility can no longer access the secured Row Set /
Column Set.

This setup applies to any type of form which has the option of being secured.

Warning!

1. If a user has assigned a second responsibility which has no restrictions in accessing the
above Row Set / Column Set , that user will have access to every row set/ column set due
to this second responsibility which gives unlimited rights.

2. The access rights defined only work at responsibility level.

So, in order to have different rights for another user one should define a separate
responsibility for this user, and assign to the responsibility a separate Definition Access
Set with the corresponding access rights.
