Ref :- Request received from various Colleges

Considering the requests received from various institutions, additional guidelines are issued for
comprehensive examination.

Additional Guidelines for Comprehensive Exam

(1) If a student does not meet attendance requirements (note that weekly 2 periods are allotted in the
curriculum for this course) , as in other courses, he/she will be ineligible for appearing both oral and
written examinations and 'FE' grade will be awarded. The student has to register and repeat the
course again as in the case of other courses.

(2) If a student meets attendance requirements, but does not appear for oral examination, he/she will
not be permitted to appear for written exam and 'I' (Incomplete) grade will be awarded, as both exams
are mandatory as per B.Tech ordinance. He/she shall appear for both oral and written exam in the
next chance.

(3) If a student meets attendance requirements, appears for oral exam, but does not appear for
written exam, he/she shall be awarded 'I' (Incomplete) grade, even if he/she gets 45% or more of
maximum marks of the course from oral exam alone. He/she shall register and appear for the written
exam alone in the next chance, as both exams are mandatory.

(4) If a student meets attendance requirements, appears for both oral and written exams but gets less
than 45% marks for oral and written exam together, he/she will be awarded 'F' (Fail grade. He/she
shall register and appear for written exam alone to get pass grade.

(5) As per the decision of the academic council, the oral examination marks will not be regulated in
accordance with the performance in the written examination for all the comprehensive examinations in
future and there will not be separate minimum for pass

For the 2015 admission batch of students, who appeared in S6 B.Tech April/May 2018 exam,
absence of students in oral exam would not have been noted and hence all students who got 'F' grade
in S6 April/May 2018 Exam will be allowed to appear for oral exam and written exam in the next
chance.
