Rationale A recollection or retreat is intended to be a personal encounter
with God often characterized by meditation, silence, reflection,
and prayer. It primarily seeks to renew faith that may have
long been practiced but not fully internalized to bring about
the desired positive transformation of every human being.

As Buenavista National High School adheres to the tagline

“Empowering Minds through Holistic Education,” it will
conduct a retreat for Grade 12 learners.

The conduct of the activity is consistent with the Department

of Education’s core values which is “Maka-Diyos” and
“Makatao.”

The activity further commits in the realization of the DepEd’s

vision to have Filipinos whose values enable them to realize
their full potential and contribute meaningfully to building the
nation.

Besides, the activity is geared toward Project SHAREIT as

reflected in the School’s Enhanced School Improvement Plan.
Through this recollection, the school is expected to save and
help a student through holistic education. If the learners are
spiritually armored, then they would not likely fall and
contribute to the school’s dropout rate. It would also ensure
the 100% completion rate among the graduating students of
the school.

This activity is as well in support of Project CARE (Child-

friendly, Adopt-a-Student, Reach out and Extend Extra-Mile
Services) to ensure a child-friendly environment inhabited by
people with a balanced spiritual, moral, and personal
attributes. Project CARE is also stipulated in the Annual
Implementation Plan for School Year 2019-2020.
Objectives At the end of the retreat, Grade 12 learners should have:
1. temporarily left behind the usual distractions we all
face for a time long enough to allow relaxation and for
an inner change to occur;
2. converted each one’s heart that is critical to deepening
faith and revitalizing values through good manners and
right conduct; and
3. lived out good decisions after being enlightened on an
information and education campaign to combat
premarital sex as the cause of teenage pregnancy,
hence, leading to dropout.
