Background
A stroke is a medical condition in which poor blood flow to the brain results in cell death. There are two main types of stroke
ischemic, due to lack of blood flow, and hemorrhagic, due to bleeding. Both result in parts of the brain not functioning properly.
Early diagnosis is necessary for stroke patient so that the physicians can determine for the next treatment. As we knew that the
golden period for stroke patient is about 3-4.5 hours after the first attack, so the faster we take an action the lower risk of the brain
damage can be minimize. This study discussed the role of PACS in increasing the speed and accuracy of the expertise of results,
especially in the non-contrast head CT scan at the crucial time when the radiologists leave the hospital until morning when the
radiologists back to the hospital.

Method
The research method was qualitative study. Comparing time turn around table on the last 3 months before and a month after using
PACS integrated with RIS and teleradiology. It will measure the needed of the non contrast Head CT Scan examination with stroke
patient start from registration until the expertise released.

Result
The results showed the difference of time turn around table experienced.Which are before PACS implementation percentage of
time turnaround table less than 1 hour from door to CT scan until expertise has released is about 25 % and after PACS integrated
RIS and teleradiology implementation is about 47 %. So the increasing of the time turn around table before and after
implementation is about 38%. The most significant impact was the registration process until the end of examination. However,
expertise of radiology is still not significant due to level of difficulty in reporting radiologist.

Conclusion
PACS can assist reducing time of stroke examination process in radiology department.
