and takes place in various settings.

pathways.

and its learning necessities.

D. Lesson Proper
It is common expression that (Students listen attentively)
“experience is the best teacher”. The
occurrence of personal knowledge and
direct experience are natural parts of
learning. To experience an event is to be a
part if incident and actually see and feel.

Now, can anyone tell me what an In learning-teaching episodes, Experience

experience is? You can base it on your is the base and serves as the foundation
own opinion. upon which new ideas and patterns of
behaviour are formulated.

There is this thing that we called Experiential Learning is basically a mode

Experiential Learning. And what is of acquiring knowledge and information or
Experiential Learning? skills through direct and keen observations
followed by an in-depth analysis of what
has been registered in the senses and
how these are understood.

The pupils/students learn faster (Students listen attentively)

from experiences brought about by natural
occurrences in the environment. The
learning requisites of experiential learning
necessitate that:
1. The pupils/students should be
personally involved in the learning
tasks.
2. The knowledge or information must
be discovered by the
pupils/students.
3. The objectives of the learning
activity must be clearly understood
by the learners.
4. There should be degree of flexibility
in the way the children pursue the
learning tasks.
5. The learners should be directly
involved in the planning stage of the
learning experiences.
6. The pupils/students should be given
time sufficient to reflect on the
learning situation.
7. The learners should be allowed to
interact with each other about their
experiences.
8. The tools and materials are readily
available to facilitate simple
investigation.
9. The learners should record their
observation for their analysis,
interpretations and conclusions.
10. The inclusion of a wide variety of
real-life situation in planning the
lessons is carefully included.

On the part of the teacher, a journal

would be of help on recording
observations of the description of the
learning process, outcomes of the events;
factors that contribute to the success; and
the instructional value.

Experiential learning can be more

meaningful and can insure an effective
application of the principles and concepts
arrived at, if the learning requisites are
fully satisfied.
