Objective
APC20S is a demanding course in which many of the concepts are a natural extension of topics covered in the
Grade 9 mathematics course. Additionally, this course integrates theoretical approaches to many of the topics to
prepare students for continuing into either Applied or Pre-calculus Math.
The Applied Mathematics pathway is designed to provide students with the mathematical skills
identified for post-secondary studies in programs that do not require the study of theoretical calculus.
The Pre-calculus Mathematics pathway is designed to provide students with the skills identified for entry
into post-secondary programs that require the study of theoretical calculus. It is strongly recommended
that students maintain a mark of 70% or above in this course to ensure continued success in the Pre-
calculus stream of study.
Homework
Work assigned in class must be finished at home if it has not been completed during the period. Daily
assignment completion is the goal and is absolutely vital for success in mathematics. Homework checks will
occur on a regular basis. If you miss a class, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed so you can
complete it and receive marks for it.
All assignments and notes will be posted at 115math.weebly.com
Tests Evaluation
You will write a test at the end of every unit. If you Tests 55%
