Tropical Depression (TD) 'Egay', the country's 5th tropical cyclone for 2019, has slightly weakened as it
continues to move northwestward, state weather bureau PAGASA announced in its 5:00 am bulletin on
Monday, July 1.
At 4:00 am today, the center of 'Bagyong Egay' was estimated based on all
available data at 195 km East Northeast of Aparri, Cagayan or 205 km East of
Calayan, Cagayan.
TD Egay has maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and
gustiness of up to 60 kph. It is moving Northwest at 40 kph.
Tropical cyclone wind signal TCWS #1 (30-60 km/h Expected in 36 hours) was
raised over Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands.

Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out
over the seaboards of areas under TCWS #1 due to moderate to rough seas
associated with the tropical depression.

Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon will bring light to moderate with at times
heavy monsoon rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera
Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol
Region, Antique, Aklan, and western Iloilo, while cloudy skies with scattered
rainshowers and thunderstorms is expected over the rest of Luzon and
Western Visayas.

Residents in the aforementioned areas, especially those living in areas

identified to be at high risk of flooding and landslides, are advised to take
precautionary measure, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and
management offices, and continue monitoring for updates, especially the
Thunderstorm Advisories and Heavy Rainfall Warnings to be issued by
PAGASA Regional Services Divisions.

Manila, Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa,
Bicol region, at Western Visayas.
