How to prepare laptop for Oracle EBS R12

URL to EBS R12 at home: http://apps.example.com:8000/OA_HTML/AppsLogin

User/pwd: sysadmin/sysadmin

Add EBS Server to Windows Hosts File:

1. Open Notepad as Administrator (right-click on Notepad icon)

2. Open the ‘host’ file under C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
3. Add the IP and host name of the Oracle EBS applications server: 192.168.0.129
apps.example.com apps
4. Save the file and reboot the laptop

Update Internet Explorer 11 Settings:

1. From Internet Explorer click on the ‘Tools’ icon and go to the ‘Compatibility View Settings’
option
2. Add ‘example.com’ (this is Oracle’s application server application name)
3. Go to the ‘Security’ tab of ‘Internet Options’
4. Click on ‘Custom Level’
5. Scroll down to the bottom and disable the ‘Enable XSS Filter’ option
6. Go to ‘Sites’ for ‘Local Intranet’, click on ‘Advanced’, add ‘http://apps.example.com’
Update Java Settings:

1. Go to Window’s Control Panel and double-click on the ‘Java’ icon

2. Click on the ‘Security’ tab, click on the ‘Edit Site List’ button, click on the ‘Add’ button
3. Enter: http://apps.example.com:8000

Delete the Java temporary files (including applets)
