1. Analyse the promotion of similar product types to yours. You must look
at how 2 productions use:
- Websites
- Social media
How do they use these to promote the production? Design? What
pages do they have? What content is included?
3. What could you take from these to help you create your own website
to promote your production?
LO2.1 Planning and Production:
The Raindance Film Festival will be selecting the winning
production based on the following elements:
1. Mise-en-scene
2. Camera angles and shots
3. Use of correct lighting
4. Locations used
5. Professional pre-production
Prior to shooting your production, you need to plan it to ensure its success.
Complete the pre-production booklet in as much detail as possible as this will
help you to produce as professional a product as possible. It will make your
more time efficient when filming and will ensure you move the camera more
effectively.
Your pre-production should include the following (some may vary dependent
on production)
Production Schedule
Script / Shooting Script
Storyboard
Props List
Crew List
Location Recces
Clearances and Confirmations
Contingency Plan
We would like you to avoid using the green screen if possible. You may only
use it based on our approval and with us checking thorough planning
beforehand.
A good video should be shot in a well-chosen location and not rely on using
our studio. In the past, students who have sought a proper location, have
had much greater success with their videos – it is worth the extra effort!
LO2.2 Building Promotion:
It is extremely important that these are completed as you work and not just at
the end. Please remember to take photos as you film and screenshots as you
edit. All of this will help to support what you are evaluating.
