Cool
The raw materials from aquatic shell wastes will be gather in sacks directly at Barangay
Talaban, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental which will be grind into powder form using
the shell grinder and a furnace at Negros Prawn Diagnostics and Analytical Laboratory,
Bacolod City. The powdered shells will be prepare by sieving using Sieve No. 10 (200 mm)
to meet the cement standard size and oven dried for at least 18 hours or to a constant
weight. The over-dried samples will be place in a tightly sealed container to maintain its
conditions.
III. Physical, Chemical and Mechanical Observation and Testing of Powdered
Shells
The Negros Prawn Diagnostics and Analytical Laboratory, Bacolod City will utilize in
the conduct of physical, chemical and mechanical observation and testing of powdered
The component materials will be proportion in a way as indicate in ASTM C 188/ C 109 M-
The pulverized shells will first incorporate with cement and then mix thoroughly. Then add
with other materials ( sand and water ) and thoroughly mix in a mechanical mixer to
achieve the proper consistency of a concrete mixture to avoid voids which decreases the
