Detailed Lesson Plan in Arts

Intended for Second Year High School Students

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:

1. identify Kabuki as a theatrical art form of Japan,


2. design a Kuma Dori mask using coloring materials,
3. manifest camaraderie among members in making a Kuma Dori mask.

II. Subject Matter

Main Topic: Festival and Theater art of Japan


Sub Topic: Kabuki
Reference: Grade 8 Music and Arts of Asia Learners Module
Materials: Pictures, Masks and Coloring materials

III. Procedure

Let’s all stand for our opening prayer. (The student will rise)

B. Review

Okay. Before we start our topic for today. We will have a


review.
What is our topic last meeting? It’s about Peking Opera.
What is the two main role in Peking Opera? Sheng and Dan

Okay. Good! Xiaosheng, Wusheng and Laosheng


What are the characters of Sheng?
Laodan, Wudan, Daomadan, Qingy and Huadan
Now, what are the characters of Dan?

Correct!
Jing and Chou sir!
Last. What is the secondary role in Peking Opera?

Correct!

C. Motivation

Class we are going to play a game! Are you familiar with
