We live in this era of globalization wherein the significance of information is
certainly greater than it ever has been. This is due to the widespread of technological
progression which rooted in our curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving techniques that
made everything accessible within our reach. If we are to compare the past and the
present, it is safe to say that we have really come a long way.
I, myself, am aware that I rely on media most of the time since it has a myriad of
advantages, likewise disadvantages. One of the benefits of this advancement is it
connects me to the world by means of smooth and efficient communication. With the
help of technology, I’m able to converse virtually with my friends and family, wherever
and whenever. Unlike before, they had to mail it, traditionally, which takes about months
or years in order to obtain. Another thing is it helps me comprehend that I can expand
my knowledge beyond its limitless perimeter in merely a click. Websites including Google,
Yahoo, Bing, etc. are generally used which presents numerous related information that
are arranged according to its relevance. This is mainly what I’m grateful of as a student
since it assists me to accomplish a certain task, at the same time it conserves both my
time and energy.
Indeed, Innovation has truly brought nothing but comfort and luxury to humanity.
As a matter of fact, because it gives us too much reassurance, we tend to be dependent
on these man-made properties and sometimes negligent of its adversities. There are other
people who use this as a platform to promulgate non-legitimate data in which a
percentage of individuals fail to discern.
Media and technology is produced by us, humans, and therefore we shape and
control it. But what’s happening today is the contrary. We’re the ones being manipulated
by these developments - the way we live, what we do, and what we think. It is now so
integrated with our lives that going without it can cause severe anxiety for some. It’s not
hard to see why. Technology has really taken over mankind. The only thing we need to
remember is to be mindful of it and that we have authority over it.
