NARRATIVE REPORT ON CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

I. INTRODUCTION

A. Rationale/ Objective

Department of Education launched its Child Protection Policy on May 3, 2012, through
DepEd Order No. 40, s. 2012, to promote a zero-tolerance policy for any act of child abuse,
exploitation, violence, discrimination, bullying and other related offenses.

Article 218 of the Family Code of the Philippines and PD 603 “gives the school, its
administrators and teachers, or the individual, entity or institution engaged in child care the
special parental authority and responsibility over the minor child while under their supervision,
instruction or custody”…..

To ensure the institution of effective child protection policies and procedures and monitor
compliance thereof as a duty and responsibility of the School; The Silanga National High School
hosted the conduct of Division Child Protection Policy Training last March 6-8, 2016. The said
activity mainly focused on Protecting Children in School from Abuse, Violence, Exploitation,
Discrimination, Bullying and other forms of Abuse.

B. Participants

All Secondary School Teachers in Silanga National High School together with the
Faculty and Staff from Catbalogan IV District partook in the Division Child Protection Policy
Training. Even the Resource Speakers actively joined in order to have a smooth flow of the
activities.

C. Materials

Microphone, big speakers, overhead projector was utilized in the deliberation of topic by
the resource speakers. Likewise, it was used to involve participants in partaking of ideas during
each talk. It was deemed beneficial particularly in the clarification of some points during and
after the presentation of topics.

Sound system was good. It aided the voice quality of the speakers and even the
music/voice played for video presentation.

II- Program Proper

The Training-Workshop was started with a programmed activity such as

 Invocation, singing of Lupang Hinirang, Reciting of Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa


Watawat ng Pilipinas, singing of the Catb.City Division Hymn and Physical Fitness
 An Intermission Number followed from the SNHS Dance Troupe
 Next is the Attendance Recognition by different School Heads of Catb.IV District and
SNHS
 A Welcome Talk was given by Ma’am Ruth D. Cabanganan, School Principal I of SNHS
 The Statement of Purpose and the Orientation Proper was given by Ma’am Francia A.
Tan, Division Child Protection Coordinator
 A Message was then given by Sir Gaudencio C. Aljibe Jr.,Ph.D.,CESE, OIC Office of
the Schools Division Superintendent focused on protecting children in school and protect
teachers themselves.
 And the Seminar Training Proper by the different Resource Speakers serves as the
highlights of the activity
 All topics were successfully conveyed for by the Resource Speakers
 Open Forum was done, and participants queries were all answered.
 A Take Home Message was given by Ma’am Francia A. Tan
 And the Distribution of Certificates followed as the waiting moments of all participants

III- Problems Met

There were no problems met during the conduct of the activity. All participants were actively
engaged in the conduct of the different activities/outputs.

IV- Results/ Output:


Participants are made aware of the DepEd Order No. 40,s. 2012 Child Protection Policy
(Policy Guidelines on Protecting Children in School from Abuse, Abuse, Violence, Exploitation,
Discrimination, Bullying and other forms of Abuse.

NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE CONDUCT OF


CAREER ORIENTATION PROGRAM

I. INTRODUCTION

Rationale

One reason why too many graduates end up without job is that they do not get
the proper guidance in choosing their courses. High school graduates do not have
sufficient information on career opportunities. Oftentimes, they rely on their instincts,
copy friends’ choices or follow their parents’ wishes.

Silanga National High School truly supports the conduct of Senior High School
Career Guidance Program for School Year 2017-2018.In connection with the Career
Guidance Week conducted last July 24-28, 2017, Career Talk on Senior High School was
done last January 24, 2018 by the SHS Teachers served as a resource speakers, which
aims to provide information and Career Guidance to all Grade 10 students.

Career Orientation was conducted to prepare students to have a greater


understanding of educational and career opportunities and options, and to assist them in
making meaningful and informed career choices.

A. Objectives

In response to the activities, the following objectives of the Career Orientation


were developed.

 To guide students in making informed decisions regarding their choice of Senior


High School tracks suitable to their skills and interest.
 To gain an understanding of their own interests, abilities, aptitudes, and strengths

B. Participants

All Grade 10 students in Silanga National High School, Senior High School
Teachers handling Tech-Voc. Subject, one Guidance Counselor-Designate and with the
active participation and support of the School Head, Sir Rhum O. Bernate, partook in the
Career Orientation Program.
C. Materials

 Awarding of Certificate of Recognition to the Resource Speakers followed.
 A Closing Remarks was given by Mrs. Connie M. Bernardo, Guidance Counselor
Designate. She gave thanks to everyone whom extended their time and efforts for
the successful conduct of the activity and also gave inputs on the importance of
choosing a track that suited to their skills and interest.
 Open Forum was done, and participants queries were all answered.

III- Problems Met


There were no problems met during the conduct of the activity. All participants were
actively engaged in the conduct of the orientation program.

IV- Results/ Output:

Participants are made aware of the K-12 and Senior High School Program and
become acquainted with the different tracks suitable to their skills and interest.
