Subject : Reply to Show Cause Order

Dear Undersecretary Diño:

Reference : Show Cause Order, dated June 11, 2019, directing the undersigned to explain in
writing under oath about our failure to comply with the DILG Memo Circular No. 2019-07.

In compliance thereof, may we first offer our apologies for our failure to participate in the January 27,
2019 whole-day clean-up activities along Manila Bay area due to our inability to prepare because the
DILG Memo has reached my attention only during the day of the event. Although we are not physically
present during that time, we can let you rest assured that we have been doing that clean-up activities as
well as clearing of the drainage system in our barangay since July 2018 that was nearly 2 months after
the 2018 barangay election which is 6 months prior to the issuance of the said DILG Memo.

That clean-up drive was merely intensified upon receipt of the said DILG Memo by frequently
conducting weekly clean-up/clearing activities in our Barangay. We have also tapped the services of
MMDA and Department of Public Services of Manila City Hall to effectively carry out the said clean-up
activities in our locality as evidently shown in the post activity reports that we have submitted to the
Manila Barangay Bureau and DILG. Glaringly, it signifies that we have at least contributed in the effort
of the government in cleaning up the Manila Bay since we are located within the Manila Bay Watershed
Area.

Once again, we extend our sincere apologies for our failure to participate in the January 27, 2019 whole-
day clean-up activities. Rest assured that we fully support the campaign of the government in cleaning
up the Manila Bay and we promise that we will always cooperate and participate in every activity that
your office initiates.
