Dear Students:

Spirit Week is here! Join the fun and dress the part. The themes are as follows: Tuesday – Pajama Day, Wednesday
– Disney Day, Thursday – Mime Day, Friday – Free Dress Day, Monday (December 13) – Super Hero Day. If you do not
dress in the theme of the day you must wear the ISM Student Uniform. Also, remember that you should not bring to
school any kind of weapon or copy of one when dressed in costume. Show your school spirit by dressing up!

Lots of activities this week…The MS Art Exhibit opens on Monday at 3:00 P.M. in the FAT Gallery. Stop by to see
some creative pieces of work. On Tuesday at 5:30 enjoy the musical numbers showcased at the MS Beginners
Recital. Don’t miss the Poetry Jam this Thursday, December 9 in the MSMC at 3:00 PM.

Grade 7 and 8…It’s party time! Make sure to get your permission slip signed and buy a ticket for the Holiday
Ball. We look forward to seeing you there on Friday.

Remember that to help you and your classmates stay focused, eating and drinking anything other than water, for
example Sour Spray, is not permitted in class. This also helps our school stay clean.

With only eight days in the semester, make sure you stay on top of your work. Continue to be responsible and make
positive choices right up to December 15. You can do it!

CCV Diaper Drive –Concludes Friday, December 10th. Biode-
gradable diapers can be ordered at the cashiers.
Please Bring donations to your home base. The home base

MIDDLE SCHOOL SPIRIT WEEK
To prepare for the upcoming sports day in Middle
School, we are showing our school pride this week dur-
ing Spirit Week. Each day, December 7 – December 11,

CCV Saturday, 11th December- Permission slips now avail-

able at MS Guidance. Please return by Thursday.
Community Garden Extension- Saturday 11th December –
Come along any time between 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. to help
extend the community garden here at ISM. Remove the
grass, dig up the ground, build the fence and fill in the soil.
PCF - Saturday, 22nd January- Here at ISM. We will enter-
tain the kids from PCF in a range of fun activities. We need
students who can do art, sport and music activities. Permis-
sion slips will be available after Christmas break at MS
Guidance.

ISM Basketball Invitational
Last weekend ISM hosted 3 local schools for the HS boys and
girls basketball invitational. Our ISM boys team, despite be-
ing decimated currently with injuries, put up a great effort
vs. Don Bosco and Claret to lose both games by 2 points in
the dying seconds. The boys showed great determination to
battle hard against a superior team in La Salle Zobel on Sat-
urday morning but they were simply too good and ran away
with a victory. La Salle went on to defeat Claret in the final
90-40 in a one sided affair.
Our Bearcat girls showed some great form and solid defense
to win their first two games and then narrowly lost their
Saturday morning game against UA & P. This 2-1 record got
them into the final for a rematch with University of Asia and
Pacific and after going down by 14 points in the 2nd quarter
the Bearcats fought their way back into the game.
In the dying seconds and being a point down ISM was able to
steal the ball and make a layup attempt but the ball would
not drop and U A&P won a very exciting match. This was
great IASAS preparation for our girls team to play 4 games
over the Friday/Saturday and really help give them confi-
dence for a great IASAS tournament in January.
Well done to both our girls and boys teams last weekend
and the coaches.
IASAS BASKETBALL HOUSING
IASAS Basketball will be taking place at ISM January 27-29,
2011 and housing placements are now being accepted. As of
this week we have 35 students housed but we require 100
housing slots in total.

Regular Opening Hours for the Bearcat Den:
♦ Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:30 A.M. – 1:00
P.M. and 2:30 – 4:00 P.M.
♦ Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoons from 2:30 - 4:00 P.M.
Thanks to all our great volunteers. The Bearcat Den will go
into Christmas hibernation from Tuesday, December 14 and
will reopen on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011.
Please note that the bearcat den will be closed during our PM
shifts next week due to the HS ICARE program.
The week after that (final week of school prior to Christmas
break) the den will be closed. The Den will re-open for busi-
ness on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011.
To all our valued customers thanks for your support this
school year to date, we wish you the best for the Christmas
break and see you all in 2011.
