GRADE 6 (FC) - SPEAKING TOPICS

FINAL TEST 1
Instructions to candidates
The speaking test will be divided into 2 parts (group presentation and Q&A)

GROUP PRESENTATION
§ Students will be grouped randomly to prepare a talk for about 5 minutes. Each individual
needs to deliver a talk, so that the examiners can grade his / her speaking performance
§ Students will come to the front to present their talk as a whole group, and all speaking
topics will be prepared in advance.
§ Students need to divide which parts each student will cover in their speaking performance.

Q&A (QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS)
§ At the end of the group presentation, the examiners can ask students individually a question
to see how well students understand about the topic and how students can reason their
answers.
§ If a student cannot answer the given question, other students can support.

GRADING
The examiners will assess your speaking task against the assessment criteria. There are 4 areas:
§ Fluency and Coherence
§ Lexical Resource
§ Grammar
§ Pronunciation

Topic 1 – Part 1 – Speaking Cue Card

DESCRIBE A BEAUTIFUL CITY YOU KNOW.

You should say:
§ where it is
§ how you can travel there
§ what you like to do there
and explain how you know about the city

You should say:
§ how many rooms you like to have in your dream house
§ what furniture you like to have in your room
§ who you want to live with in your dream house
and tell whether or not you like to keep a pet in your dream house.

2 What’s there in your living room/ bedroom/ kitchen?
3 Where is the TV?
4 Is there a desk in the bathroom? Where is it?
