Without access to electrical power, efficient
protection of buried structures in remote areas
has typically been difficult to achieve. Solar
Pro-Tech is a dual powered cathodic protection,
which solves this problem. The system consists
of solar panels, a control device, and both
impressed current and galvanic groundbeds.
Solar Pro-Tech ensures buried structures are
shielded from corrosion by delivering 24 hours
of uninterrupted current flow. During daylight
hours, protective current is provided by the solar
powered impressed current groundbed, which
polarizes the underground structure. When night
falls, the control device automatically switches
over to the galvanic groundbed, maintaining the
structure’s polarization and providing cathodic
protection throughout the night. Because the
