• Economic reasons as well as to the physical

• The site being accessible to both the bay and the
city proper, attracted settlement areas for
migrants seeking livelihood opportunities from the
city as well as from the fishing resources of the
bay.
• The growth of the community was encouraged by
the natural properties of the site.
