Installing IBM SPSS AMOS 20

The instructions that follow assume that you have downloaded the IBM SPSS Amos 20 software.

INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE

To install SPSS Amos 20:

1. Once the download of your software has completed, click the Launch Install button
to start the installation process. The InstallShield window is displayed.

To launch the installer manually:

a. Go to your download folder C:\Users\”your name”\Downloads\

b. Double click the IBM SPSS Amos folder
c. Double click the SPSS_Amos_20_win32 icon to start the installation procedure.

2. Click the Single user license option and click the Next button. The License
Agreement window is displayed.

3. Click the I accept the terms in the license agreement option and click the Next
button. The Customer Information window is displayed.

4. Enter a User Name. The Organization is not required. Click the Next button. The
Destination Folder window is displayed.

5. It is recommended that you DO NOT change the default location. Click the Next
button. The Ready to Install the Program window is displayed.

6. Click the Install button. The installation may take several minutes to complete,
depending on your computer.
7. When the installation is completed, click the OK button.

ACTIVATING THE SOFTWARE

After your click the OK button, the Product Authorization window is displayed.

To activate your software:

1. Click the License my product now option and click the Next button. The Enter
Codes window is displayed.
Note: If this window is not displayed, go to the Start Menu/All Programs/IBM SPSS AMOS folder
and click the IBM SPSS Amos 20 License Authorization Wizard option.

2. Enter your Authorization Code.

To find your authorization code:

a. Sign in to the website from where you purchased the software.
b. At the top of the page, click the Your account link.
c. In the Order History section, click the SPSS software that you purchased and
click the View details link. The authorization code is displayed.
3. If the authorization code is accepted, the Licensing Completed window is displayed
with your rental expiry date. Click the Finish button.

RUNNING THE PROGRAM

SPSS AMOS 20 DOES NOT create a shortcut on the desktop.

To run the program:

1. Click the Start Menu/All Programs/IBM SPSS Statistics/IBM SPSS Amos 20 folder
2. If a security popup from the Windows Firewall or from your own personal security program is
displayed, click the Allow access button. If you do not do this, the program may not work properly.
