Dear Mather Parents and Families,

The safety of your children is always our top priority, and I'm writing to inform you that I have recently
been made aware of three separate allegations involving adults affiliated with our school. It's been
reported that two staff members and one volunteer coach engaged inappropriately with students. The
district has removed the staff members from our school and blocked the volunteer coach from
volunteering with Chicago Public Schools. Separate investigations have been initiated by the Office of
the Inspector General. Parents of the impacted students have been notified, and the Office of Student
Protections and Title IX is connecting the students to supports.

Please know that we are taking these situations seriously. We remain committed to providing your
children with a safe, positive learning environment where they can reach their full potential, and we are
working with OSP to provide additional student protections training to our staff. While I am unable to
discuss details regarding the investigations, I am always available to discuss steps the district takes to
keep students safe and matters related to your child. I can be reached at pjauffant@cps.edu or (773)
534-2350. If you have any concerns related to student protections, you can contact the Office of Student
Protections and Title IX at (773) 535-4400.

Sincerely,
Principal Auffant
