Dear Sir,

With reference to above mentioned letter, As per submitted credentials and other documents of M/s Mageba
Bridge products Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata a joint inspection had done by CSC & Contractor Staff on dated 26-06-2018 to
witness the in–house factory testing of raw materials, finished product, quality management system, testing
procedures, condition of apparatus, calibration of the testing equipment, and production process as per
Technical Specifications and IRC Codes etc.. Based on the factory Inspection the observations are as below:
 Expansion joints are making at factory and are being supplied to all other projects.
 Submitted Internal & Material test reports are satisfied the requirement as per MORT &H and
IRC-SP-69-2011 specifications.
 Calibrations certificates of all equipment are submitted and satisfactory & are updated as per
requirement.

Details of Inspection lot 12no’s:

1) Manufacturing Unit: Manufacturing unit was observed automatic and workers were observed skilled as
required for the manufacturing of Expansion joints.

2) Laboratory/Tests: Laboratory was observed well equipped. All the equipment’s were in working condition
and calibrated. Laboratory staff was up to the mark for testing of expansion joints according to MORT &H and
IRC-SP-69-2011 specifications and also testing was in progress.

3) Quality Assurance Plan: Quality Assurance Plan is available in laboratory. This was observed to be
satisfactory and accepted.

4) Raw material’s test certificate: Raw materials of steel, chloroprene rubber test certificates by the
manufacturer were available in the plant laboratory and observed to be satisfactory.

5) Tests conducted in plant laboratory / Manufacturing unit:

 Visual process Inspection.
 Confirmation of the grade of steel.
 Complete dimensional check as per approved drawings.
 Physical Properties of Chloroprene seal like Hardness, Tensile strength, Ultimate elongation, Tear
prorogation strength tests.
 Straightness.
 Checking of corrosion protection (Not satisfactory)
 Pull-out test.
 Ponding test.
 Debris expelling test.
 Marking.

6) Shortfalls:
 Corrosion protection i.e Overall HDG thickness is less than 150 m is not satisfactory as per MORT &H
and IRC-SP-69-2011 specifications.
 Test certificates of (NABL approved) cyclic motion, fatigue strength and water tightness tests are not
enclosed as per special specifications clause of 2607.5.9.
 Quality assurance system document, Maintenance procedure and schedule and Warranty reports not
enclosed.
 The credentials of the manufacturer in original and valid certificates for license granted by BIS shall be
furnished.

6) Conclusion: On the basis of above observation details, the finished product of 20 no’s has to be rectify and
submit all the above said documents to enable us to accord approved for the dispatch at site in this project.
