Our goal for Dawn’s Light 2 was to keep you entertained from start to finish. We’ve introduced many new
features to make the game more fun. Whether you want to craft the ultimate weapons for your party or scour the
world for stickers of your favorite characters, hopefully you’ll enjoy every minute of it.
Dawn’s Light 2 is made for anybody who enjoyed the original. While we are very proud of what we accomplished
with Lilly and Sasha, we wanted to make sure this was true sequel. We tried to hold onto everything people liked
about Dawn’s Light 1, but to improve upon it as much as possible.
In the end, all that matters is that you enjoy the game. We would be thrilled to hear your feedback on the game,
whether it’s something you liked or something you would like us not to do ever again.
You can email us at dan@johnwizard.com or andrew@johnwizard.com, or you can leave a comment on our
forums at www.johnwizard.com/forums.
Have fun!
After a brief intro, Harvey will hear a knock at the door and you’ll be able to control him. Leave the house to
discover that there was in fact nobody there. Next make your way into the forest to the left and attempt to walk
over the bridge. It will break apart and Harvey will say that he could fix it with a small assortment of items which
you can now see in the top corner of the screen.
Make your way up into the forest to start collecting the items. On the next screen, pick up the flashing board in
the water and then move left onto the next map. Climb to the top of the stairs and collect the hammer off the
rock. Walk across the metal grates on the waterfall and move left onto the next map. Make your way across the
rocks and climb down the rope.
Pick up the bag of nails off the table and walk across the bridge. Grab the post out of the water on the way down.
Pick up the board off the ground and then move right onto the next map. Pick up the rope off the table and move
right again. You’ll now be back in the first room. Take the post out of the water and then make your way back to
the broken bridge and try to cross it again.
Walk across the newly constructed bridge to see a cut scene with Victor, after which you will end up in the
Midnight Cave.
Walk over to the block with the up arrow and push it left until the moon light shines on the pillar. Then make
your way into the next room, where you will find a gate that you need a key for. Get the key from the room to the
right and then start the next puzzle. After making the light shine on the appropriate pillar, press the wall
mounted switch to give light to the other block. Shine the light on the pillar and continue into the next room.
At the top of the room, go into the left room to learn Bearded Strike from the skill statue and then into the right
room to get the key. Shine the lights on the appropriate pillars to uncover more switches and eventually the key.
Use the key to get into the boss room and fight the boss. Make heavy use of Bearded Strike to ensure your
victory.
The Return
After the fight, head back to the first room of the cave. If you killed all of the enemies, you should have enough
tokens to loot both of the chests in the room to get a new sword and armor. Make sure to equip them in the
equip menu.
Now leave the cave and make your way back to Harvey’s house. When you go inside, he will put his new outfit on
and you’ll get a new quest to go and get Tyson. Make your way back out of the house and then head over to the
east side of the island until you see a dock. Walk onto the dock to initiate travel sequence.
You will now find yourself outside the Lone Wolves Headquarters. Enter through the front door and speak to the
girl at the desk. Then proceed through the door on the right. Harvey will speak to Sue, who tells you that you’ll
need to collect some items to become pre-initiated. The items are all flashing red, so they shouldn’t be too hard
to find. They can all be found in the few rooms surrounding you.
Collect the witch hat from the first room, then go up through the door on the stone wall where you will find a
mirror and chicken foot. Return to the previous room and this time go through the right exit. Collect a carrot
and a candle and head right again. In this room collect another mirror and then head through the door at the top
of the room to collect the pocket watch from the table. Now return to Sue to give her your items.
Now return to the lobby but this time go through the door on the left. Proceed through the following rooms until
you get to Tyson’s room. After a brief scene, Tyson will join your party and you’ll get a new quest to go and get
Vera. Make your way out of the headquarters and walk onto the flashing arrows on the ground to sail your boat
to Twilight Village.
Twilight Forest
After crashing the boat in Twilight Forest, Harvey and Tyson decide to abandon it for the time being and just
look for Vera. Make your way through the forest, using the posts in the water to jump across. Make sure to loot
as many barrels as you can, as you will need the potions and other items in the future.
When you get to Twilight Village, head north until you get to the mansion entrance. Inside you will find Vera,
who soon joins you. Vera informs you that you can use a nearby ship to get back to Autumn Island, so make your
way to the south end of Twilight Village and walk onto the flashing arrows to get back to Autumn Island.
When you get back to Autumn Island, Harvey will pick up a dirty old boat that washed up on the shore and tell
the party they can use it to find out where the map leads. Head back over to the other side of the island, near the
entrance to Midnight Cave, and use the dock there to end up in Redwood Forest.
When you get to Redwood Forest, you will have to solve a puzzle before you can get into the next room. Walk
over the tile with the frog on it to turn into a frog and then walk across the lily pads and press the switch. Now
walk over the tile with a picture of Harvey’s face to return to Harvey’s body and then cross the bridge.
On the next map, speak to the squirrel, then walk into the camp and speak to Cameron who is now blocking the
north exit. Walk past him and proceed through the forest until you come to a room with more lily pads.
After completing the puzzle, move into the next room where you’ll find some well deserved treasure. Plus some
enemies, typical. Once you’ve collected what you want, take the north east exit.
After you rescue the first squirrel, head back to the squirrel camp and speak with Cameron again. He will tell you
that you can now leave through the south exit of the camp. Talk to the squirrel guarding the exit, and head into
the next area. You’ll come across more lily pads. After completing step 1 below, take the right exit. Work your
way around to the exit at the top left of the next room. You’ll come out at the right side of step 2.
After you speak with Cameron, you will now be able to leave through the west exit. Talk to the squirrel to get
past and then proceed through the following rooms until you find Lord Christoph Swordhand trapped in a cage.
Loot the key from the chest near the cage and use it to set him free.
After you set him free, he’ll give you a mining pick and, as well a stone that lets you teleport to his weapon shop
whenever you like. You will instantly be teleported there. Walk into the hexagram on the ground to return to
Redwood Forest. Now that you have the mining pick, you will be able to mine all of the dark rocks that you see in
Redwood Forest.
If you like, you can head back through Redwood Forest to collect some of the ore at the start. For every 10 pieces
of ore you mine, you’ll be able to make a new weapon. Just go into the menu and select crafting to teleport back
to Swordhand’s shop. Crafted weapons are very powerful, so it is recommended to make them as often as you
can.
After you’re done with that, take the left exit to end up at the cat camp. Find the squirrel in the corner of the
camp to start another cutscene. Afterwards, grab the key from the nearby chest and use it to unlock the gate at
the top exit. Proceed into the next room.
You’ll eventually get to a room with an exit on the left, right and top sides. You’ll need to make your way through
both the left and right sides first to pull the switches at the end, which will open up the path through the top
exit. The puzzles are pictured below. After pressing each of the switches, make your way up until you get to the
boss. Make sure you save first.
Trickster Cave
Make your way through the cave. Halfway through, you will see a woman guarding a gate who will tell you about
the gatekeepers. Check out the Titan Gates section of the guide for more information on how to open the gates.
After that, continue making your way through the cave until you find an exit on the left side.
After speaking to the tricksters, make your way out of the bottom exit of the cave to arrive in Coyote Borough.
Before you can look for the artifacts, you’ll need to go to the mercenary camp to recruit another member for your
party. You can use your time in Coyote Borough to sell your junk, buy a few weapons and armor and collect the
sticker book from the house in the top north east of town. You’ll find the mercenary shop near the bottom of the
town. Go inside and speak to the man behind the counter to get your mercenary.
Disapproving of Harvey’s choice, Vera and Tyson decide to leave the party to form their own. You will now
control each of the two parties separately. You can use the party switching orbs found throughout the world to
switch parties at any time. The parties will share all items, except keys. So you can make weapons for either party
with ore that you find in the dungeons.
You can do either of the parties first. If you want to do Vera’s party first, just skip ahead to that section of the
guide and return to Harvey’s tem when you are ready.
Harvey and Colin will arrive at their island and decide that they need to go into the Diamond Mines, but they
will need a pass first. Make your way to the map to the left, then go up to find Lord Adolin Swordhand: Silent
Savior. Go over and speak to him to discover that he has passes and he will let you have them if he can join the
group.
After Swordhand joins the party, head back to the Diamond Mines and speak to the man guarding the entrance.
Swordhand will show him the passes and you will now be able to enter.
Diamond Mines
Make your way up. Find the key in the nearby room and proceed through the gate to get to the next room. You
will see pillars blocking your path to the door. The pillars are too heavy to be pushed, so you will need to blow
them up with the explosives found in the mine carts. Head over to the left side of the room. First push the blue
mine cart to send the blue explosives to the pillar. Then send a fire cart to blow up the explosives and the pillar.
Do the same to get rid of the black pillar. Explosive carts must be touching the same colored pillar to destroy it.
In the next room, head to the bottom of the room and push the blue cart, followed by a fire cart. Then make your
way to the top right of the room and push the black ore cart. Then return to the bottom and push the remaining
fire cart.
Now make your way back to the top and the entrance will be clear. Get the key from inside the room and the
return to the room with the three mine carts and this time jump in the left cart.
Use the blue explosives to blow up the pillar and the jump in the empty cart to get into the next room. Use the
carts to get to the red chest. Loot the key and then head back to the room with three carts.
In the next room, there are two empty carts you’ll need explosives for. Take the door on the left first. Fight your
way through the next room and you’ll come to another set of mixed up mine cart tracks. Solution follows.
Collect the explosives and head back to the room with the two empty carts. Use your explosives on the empty
carts to blow up the pillars blocking your way. Take the exit up and you’ll find the 3rd and last key.
After you have the final key, head back to the room with the three mine carts once more and this time exit
through the doorway at the top left of the room. Use your three keys to break down the gates and then climb
down. Keep making your way through this area and you will eventually come to a room with an orange crystal.
Approach the crystal to fight the boss of the Diamond Mines.
After you’ve defeated the boss, Swordhand will find the Wand of Macardia and tell you that you should head
back to Firehawk Village look for a place to use it.
When you arrive in Firehawk Village, speak to the person who is blocking the entrance into the main part of
town. After Swordhand flashes the artifact, you’ll be allowed to enter the town. You must now use the Wand of
Remembrance to find the five locations that Swordhand suspects of being susceptible to the powers of the
artifact.
The Wand of Remembrance will start turned on. To turn it on or off, go into the menu and use it from your
usable items list. While the wand is being used, the screen will be tinted blue and all of the items you need to
inspect will be flashing red. Make your way around the town with the wand turned on and inspect all of the
flashing red items until they eventually give up.
After they give up, the hooded figure suggests that you use it at the entrance to the Aquaplant. Make your way
out of the town and head up to the area where you first found Swordhand. From there, take the left exit to get to
the entrance of the Aquaplant. Use the Wand of Macardia on the orb hovering nearby and the door will open.
You can now enter the Aquaplant.
Aquaplant
Make your way through the first room and you will come to a second room that is filled with water. Walk across
the top of the rocks to get to the other side of the water and then walk into the door on the right. In the next
room, push the closest switch to set the water level at medium. Then push the two yellow blocks in such a
position that you will be able to jump across them when launching from the arrow tile just up the stairs.
Jump across to the other side and climb down the ladder. In the next room, make your way out of the bottom
exit to arrive back in with the water, only at a different level now. Climb the nearby rope and walk into the door.
Eventually you will arrive in a room with a switch on the wall. Press the switch to set the water level at empty
and be launched across the room. Make your way out of the bottom exit to arrive back in the main room which is
now empty.
Climb down the rope and push the rocks up against the left, right and bottom edges so you can traverse them
when the water level is set at medium again. After you’ve got them lined around the edges, make your way
through the door at the bottom of the rope. Continue into the next room, jump down and then climb the ladder.
Jump back across the blocks and press the switch on the right side of the room this time. Now climb back down
Make your way around the outside and go through the door on the left. Continue through the following rooms
until you arrive at another room with two yellow blocks. You’ll need to enter from bottom floor in the previous
room to push the blocks into place, then go back around and jump across.
You’ll arrive at another room with water. Go through the door in the right side and push the switch that lowers
the water level. Then leave that room through the bottom level and push the rocks into a formation that will
allow you to get over to the right side when you raise the water. Return to the previous room, raise the water
level, then go through the top exit and continue into the next room. Proceed through the following rooms until
you eventually come across the boss.
The Mega Cobra shoots poison at different party members. As the fight progresses, the poison will hit more and
more party members, so you’ll have to try and deal with him quickly. After defeating the boss, walk up and leave
the dungeon.
Post-Aquaplant
After leaving the Aquaplant, you will be greeted by a renegade from Firehawk City who requests your help on the
behest of her leader. You don’t know what else to do, so you have no other choice than to accept the offer. Walk
back down into the Aquaplant (you will now be able to fast travel through the dungeon) and then head back to
Firehawk City. Make your way to the house just below the entrance of the city. Enter the house from the flashing
arrows on the right side and proceed through until you climb down a rope to get to their underground meeting.
Walk into their meeting to be filled in on all of the details. You will now need to make your way to the Dragon
Shrine, which is now open. Make your way back through the Aquaplant (fast travel through) and then walk
through the large wooden door to get into the dungeon.
Once inside, make your way into the room on the left. Press the pillar-mounted switch to take control of the
empty vessel. Use the vessel to walk across the red grates and push the rock on the other side of the lava right.
Now return the vessel to its original location and you will get your body back. Walk across the newly-crafted
bridge and head left again.
You will need to do the same thing in the next room. The empty vessels are only allowed to walk across metal
grates that match their color. Walk the red one over first and push the rock in the center down and then left.
Then return him and take control of the blue one. Use this one to push the left rock up and then right.
In the next room, make your way over to the stairs to see a cutscene and loot a key from a chest. Now return to
the first room, this time heading into the room on the right. In the right room, use your key to open the gate and
Go into the next room and use the vessels to eventually press the blue switch and allow yourself to walk through.
Go to the top of the room and climb the ladder. Once you’ve climbed the ladder, take control of the red vessel
and use him to push the rock just across the red grates up, then left. Then push the other rock left.
After you’ve done this, head back down the ladder, left one room and then climb the ladder.
Proceed into the next room. Use the blue vessel to push the blue switch, then use the red vessel and push both
rocks right into the lava to get across. Go across the rocks and use the green vessel to push the green switch and
move into the next room.
In the next room, first take control of the red vessel. Walk left across the bride, then walk down onto the other
set of red grates. Walk across them and push the rock up into the lava, then return the red vessel to his starting
position. Now use the green vessel to push the green switch, which will remove the spikes and allow you to get to
the blue switch. Use the blue vessel to pull the last switch and then take the bottom exit.
Go through the left exit and in the next room, go down the stairs to get back over to the left side. Loot the
purple chest to receive the Dragonblood Badge, then return to the right side and take the right exit this time.
You will now be back in the main hall, at the very top level. Use your Dragonblood Badge on the floating orb to
get to the boss.
After the boss, use the arrow tiles to jump to the entrance of the temple and leave through the main door. Return
to Murphey in Firehawk City to ask for the whereabouts of the artifact.
After speaking to Murphey, he will reveal that you will find the artifact in their big pile of junk near the entrance
of Firehawk City. Make your way to the big junk pile near the entrance and speak to the woman guarding it. She
will then move out of the way and allow you to look for the artifact which you will find in a box at the top of the
stairs.
After you get the artifact, return to the boat that Harvey and Colin arrived on to get back to the trickster in
coyote borough and then give your artifact. After you’ve done that, you will now take control of Vera’s party
(assuming you haven’t completed that side yet).
Vera’s party starts off back in the mercenary shop with Vera trying to recruit Mariana. Mariana eventually agrees
to join you and reveals that she has a boat they can use on the north beach of Coyote Borough. Make your way to
the beach and jump in the boat to sail across to Vera’s island.
When you get there, make your way up to the next map and then into the big temple that’s emitting the green
acid.
Shrine of Acidia
To give you some perspective, this dungeon is laid out in a 4x5 grid. The room that you start in is 4,2, meaning
4th from the top (bottom row) and second from the left.
When you enter the shrine, there will be only one path that you can follow for the moment so just make your
way through the rooms until you get to a room with a bunch of tiny houses and a tiny tower. Walk onto the blue
square to begin a simulation challenge.
Make your way to the south west corner of the field. Try to open the gate and see Vera say ‘there is no lock’. Then
make your way over to the south east corner and speak to the farmer. Keep choosing the ‘talk’ option until you
have asked him all 4 questions. Then make your way to the man guarding the chest in the north east corner.
Keep choosing the ‘talk’ option until he reveals that he doesn’t even know what’s so special about the chest and
Mariana says that they need to prove to him why it’s not special. Then inspect the chest and choose ‘examine’.
You will receive a latch. Present the latch to Maverick and watch as his whole world is torn apart. After this, he
will give you some money.
Present Rick with the money to receive a hammer. Present the hammer to Maverick and he will use it to open
the chest and receive a glyph. He believes the glyph is useless and gives it to you. Take the glyph over to the gate
to the chicken coop and use it to open the gate.
Keep choosing the ‘talk’ option until you must choose one of four suggestions. Suggest whatever you think will
help, until you end up getting the deed. Present the deed to Rick to complete the challenge.
After you complete the first challenge, the two blockers on the left side of the room will fall down and you will be
able to go through the top exit. Keep going up until you find the cause of the problem – an icky acid monster.
After you defeat the monster, a third of the acid will be gone and you will be able to walk over it.
Return to the room where you did the challenge, and walk across the place where the acid use to be to get a key.
Make your way to the room above the entrance, and cross the acid using the spider web bridge. Walk left to end
up at the gate that you’ll need your key for. Go through the gate and proceed through the following rooms until
you get to another set of tiny houses. Stand on the blue square yet again to initiate the challenge.
You will find yourself in a small area that looks quite similar to Autumn Island. Make your way over to the farm
and speak to the frog. He will tell you that he needs you collect the little Harveys and he’ll give you the
Wrangler’s Recall to use if you ever get trapped by them.
You will need to complete three mini challenges where you’ll have to collect all of the Harveys by running near
them to get them to follow you, then running back to the farm. After you’ve completed all three challenges,
you’ll be returned back to the previous room and the blockers will fall down once more.
Make your way around to the place where the blockers were and go down, then left to get to the next acid boss.
Defeating this monster will remove the second level of acid. Now return to the room above the entrance again
and this time go over the spider web bridge on the right.
Proceed through the rooms until you arrive in a room with a key. Take the key to the room with the black floor
and use it to unlock the gate. Proceed onward until you come to the third challenge.
For this challenge, you just need to find and hit all of the demons flying around. They are spread out around the
volcano. After you get them all, the blockers will fall down and you can proceed onto the final boss.
After the final boss is defeated, the acid will be gone. Leave the Shrine of Acida and make your way across the
path that was formerly blocked by acid to get to Cocoa Village.
Cocoa Village
When you arrive in Cocoa Village, make your way to the inn. Speak to the girl behind the counter to be given
some items you can use to warm the other people up. Go into the house in the north west corner of the town and
warm up the king with some cocoa. He will tell you that you need to go to the Blizzfire Temple to find Henrietta.
Leave the house and make your way to the north east corner of Cocoa Village to get to the Blizzfire Temple.
Walk to the end of the hall and go into the left room. You’ll need to push the blue block onto the green square to
get past this room. Push the block down, right, up, left, down, left and then up. The blue wood in the corner will
turn red and you will be able to break it. Go into the next room to get a key.
Return to the main hall and this time go into the right door. Push the ice rock right across the lava and smash
the red wood, then proceed into the next room. You will see three ice rocks.
Push the bottom rock right and then walk across the lava and destroy all of the red wood. Then cross back over
the lava and push the middle block right. Cross over the lava and destroy the red wood again. Then push the
final ice rock to get all the way across the lava. Go into the next room to get a key.
Go back into the room with the pool of lava in the middle. Push the bottom ice block up and walk across the
lava. Use your key on the door and go through. In the next room, go through the top left exit. Destroy the four
red woods surrounding the ice block and then push it up across the lava. Walk over the lava and get the key from
the chest.
Return to the previous room and use your key to go through the left exit. Use your key on the left exit in the
following room to get to another puzzle room. Push the blue block down, right, up, right, down, left, up, left, up,
left, down, left, up, right and then down to proceed.
Proceed through the following rooms until you get to another key. Now return to the room with the large ice
wall and the stairs. Use your key to go up and proceed until you get to a room with four islands. Push the blocks
so that you will be able to jump across all the way to the other side of the room and then continue into a room
filled with lava.
Now return to the first room of the dungeon. Go into the room on the right and then go up. Use your key on the
gate on the right side of the room and proceed through. Rescue Mariana and then follow her to get to the boss.
After the boss, leave the dungeon and return to Cocoa Village.
Make your way to the house in the south west side corner of the town. Walk inside and Mariana will give you a
map to the artifact. Now leave the house and leave Cocoa Village through the west exit. Walk through the trees
and through the north exit. You will see a giant red wall with a door. Walk inside.
Once inside, you will discover that you are actually inside a giant worm of some description. Make your way to
the end of the tunnel and you’ll see four doors. Go into the room on the right and walk into the first black door
to acquire a broken heart.
Broken Heart
Return to the previous room and go through the far left door. You will now be in the heart. Walk across the
bridge and talk to the heart disease on the other side. He tells you he’s sad and you agree to find something to
cheer him up. Go up and then right, cross the bridge and then walk up the stairs and into the room with the
yellow floor. Smash all of the tentacles and a chest will appear. Loot a book from the chest and leave the room.
When you get outside, go into the room straight below you. Talk to the heart disease to receive two serviettes.
Return to the previous room and this time go right. Speak to the heart disease at the bottom and right of the
room to give them serviettes. Speak to the one at the top to find out that he wants you to resynchronize the
flowers.
Stand in the right position and keep tapping them until they have all turned purple, then speak to him. Return to
the brain disease that gave you the serviettes and speak to him again. Then return to the first room and speak to
the sad brain disease to give him the book. He will cheer up.
Make your way up again, but this time go to the left side of the room and open the gate to the pumping station.
Inside the pumping station, find the heart disease that is controlling the switch and speak to him. He’ll remove
the spikes that were blocking you on the far right side of the room. Make your way over there to get a key.
Return to the room above the entrance and use your key on the gate. Destroy the tentacle to cure the heart and
then make your way out.
Brain
Make your way into the room to the right of the entrance again, but this time walk into the door that is second
to the left to acquire a superiority complex. Return to the first room once more and enter the second door to the
left (purple wall). Speak to the brain disease and he will let you enter the brain.
Go into the next room, then go into the room to the right. Walk over to the two arguing brain diseases to see
what their argument is about. Then return to the previous room. This time go through the left exit and then go
He’ll tell you he wants to see somebody fail. Speak to him again and Tyson will lead him to the arguing couple.
He’ll decide who the winner is and then bestow his knowledge upon you. Talk to the guy with the key again and
defeat him in a mental duel. After that, return to the first room in the brain and pick up the inverted cow. Take
the cow back to him and show it to him to get the key.
Now that you have the key, you only need to walk near the door to open it. Go through the door and proceed
into the next room. Talk to the brain disease who asks you to fight a wolf for him. Head into the room on the
right and take care of the wolf, then return to him. He’ll give you 50 green squares.
Now go into the room on the left and then go through the door at the top. Speak to the brain disease guarding
the chest. Then speak to him again to give him the green squares. He’ll move out of the way and you can loot the
key from the chest behind him.
Return to the room where you needed the key and use it on the gate. Go into the next room and cross the
bridges to find another chest. Loot the unending knowledge from the chest and use it to get through the grey
door in the previous room. Slash the tentacle to cure the brain and then leave.
Stomach
Go into the room on the left again and get the final disease, then head into stomach (door on the right). When
you go in, Vera will be infuriated at all of the cheese. Go through the rooms and destroy all of the enemies. After
you’ve dealt with them all you’ll be able to go through the door at the top to get to a room with even more
cheese.
Try to go in the door in the top right corner of the room and Gordan will open up the other door that is nearby.
Go in there to get the cheese torch and then return to the room with the cheese on the table and start burning it
all. After it’s all gone, you’ll be able to go through the door in the corner. Slash the tentacle to cure the stomach
then return to the main room.
Lungs
After all three are cured, you’ll be able to enter the lungs. This time go into the room on the left to get the lung
disease and then return to the previous room and enter the last door. Make your way through the lungs until you
find 4 disease lords. Gordan will deal with them and you’ll now be able to get past the stairs that were previously
blocked by fire on the ground.
Page 32 Dawn’s Light 2 Strategy Guide
Make your way up the stairs and continue until you get to the boss. After the boss, make your way through the
door in the top right corner.
Artifact
Make your way up onto the next map. Tyson will find the artifact. Now return to the boat and sail back to Coyote
Borough. Go into the trickster cave once again and give the master trickster the artifact. If you haven’t finished
Harvey’s side, you’ll take control of Harvey’s party again.
Sail your boat over to the shipyard on the east side of the world map and step onto the dock. Walk into the house
at the top of the island and speak to cap. After you end up outside, speak to the builder, locator and navigator to
discover the whereabouts of the ship parts that you’ll need to fix your boat. You will receive a map that unlocks
the vortex.
Get back on your boat and sail into the vortex to start hunting down the items.
Mankato
Make your way through the rooms of Mankato gathering all of the items that you need along the way. Everything
that you need is displayed in the top left corner on your notepad. The items will be flashing white. Once you’ve
gathered all of the items, head back to the ship yard to get your boat built.
New Boat
Speak to Sean (red hair) to give him the items and he’ll build your new boat for you. Tyson will also receive a
snazzy new captain’s outfit. Your new boat will be able to sail over the rocks in ocean, so you will now be able to
go to Koruk.
Koruk
When you arrive in Koruk, make your way to the house below the giant stairs and speak to Lord Constructus.
Afterwards, you’ll end up in the inn. By this time, the stairs have been completed so you can make your way into
Skyguard Keep. Go to the stairs in the north east corner of the city walk onto the flashing arrows to go to
Skyguard Keep.
When you get into Skyguard Keep you can make your way into the next room but you will be blocked by one of
the angels. Speak to the angel to find out why you’re not allowed to speak with the oracle.
Garden of Doom
There will be only one way to go when you enter the Garden of Doom. Keep proceeding through the rooms until
you come to a room with a tile with arrows on it. Stand on the tile to start spinning around. While you are
spinning, you will be able to cut down the grass. Spin your way to the other side of the grass and then proceed
into the next room.
The statues in this room will need to be organized correctly before you can open the chest. Read sign for a hint
or see this picture for the solution.
After you get the key, make your way into the next room and use it to unlock the gate. Go into the next room
open the green chest in the top left corner to find a shovel. Use the shovel on the dirt hole on the right side of
the room to dig underneath the ground. Walk along the black line to go onto the next map. Walk over to the
other dirt hole and use your shovel to get out of the ground. Open the chest to get a key and then dig your way
back to the previous room.
Continue to make your way through the dungeon. After spinning through another grass field, you’ll come to
another locked gate. Use your key and continue through the following rooms. Eventually you’ll come to another
statue puzzle. Organize the statues to look like this.
Get the key from the chest and continue up. Use your key on the gate, go through the grass hedge, go through
the left exit, cut your way through the grass and then go through the left exit. In the next room, you’ll see
another dirt hole. Use your shovel to dig there and get another key. Then return to the previous room.
Make your way to the bottom of the room and use your key. Continue through to the next room. You can ascend
the stairs to get to the boss, but before that you should keep going right to get to the treasure room. After you’ve
dealt with the boss, the garden will be cleansed and you can make your way back to Skycloud Keep.
Skycloud Keep
Speak to the angel who was blocking you before and she will go away, leaving you to make your way through
Skycloud Keep. Step onto the cloud with the multi-directional arrow in the middle. This cloud can be driven by
standing on one of the sides. Whichever side you are standing on, the cloud will move in that direction.
Sail the cloud around to the other cloud and collect the blue gems. When you have found 10 gems, make your
way over to the brown blockers with numbers hovering above them. When you get close to them, they will go
When you arrive at the big area in the middle, you’ll be attacked by an angel. Defeat her and move on, making
sure to activate all of the torches along the way. When you get near the right exit of the room, there will be a
little gap in the wall that you can walk through to get onto a cloud. Walk onto the cloud and walk into the next
room to arrive at a gate.
Go through the gate to be teleported to a big cloud with lots of torches to activate. Once you’ve got them all,
head back through the gate and enter the room through the normal entrance. When you get close to the portal,
you will be attacked by another angel. Once you’ve activated all of the torches, you’ll be able to go through the
gate.
Go right from here to arrive in a room with not only torches, but also gems to collect. Use the small cloud to fly
around and collect all of the gems and activate the torches. Once you’ve got everything, make your way to the
brown blockers to get to the treasure room. Then make your way over to the gate and use it to be transported to
the oracle. After speaking to the oracle, you’ll now need to make your way to the demon town of Virgilius
Maximus.
Virgilius Maximus
Make your way out of Skyguard Keep and get in your boat once more. Sail to the south east corner of the map go
through the narrow passage where the rocks once were. Get off your boat at the dock and go through the white
Leave the small house and make your way to the giant castle at the top of the town. Inside you will find Virgil.
Virgil will tell you that he knows exactly what you need, and he will help you get it but only if you allow him to
join the party. You agree and Colin is left to sit in Virgil’s Castle while you go into the dungeon. Leave the castle
with Virgil and enter the Atheneum which is just to the left.
When you enter the Atheneum, Virgil will give a quick history lesson and then it will be time to get moving.
Make your way into the bottom right room to see what Virgil’s children are getting up to. Loot the chest in that
room to get a poison seal. Return to the main hall and use the poison seal on the floating green orb in the top left
corner of the room.
Keep going left until you come to a room with a blue carpet and potions laid out on the table. You can read the
open book on the table for a tutorial on potion crafting. Go through the top exit and use the yellow paper on the
desk to learn how to make a potion that will unlock chests for you.
Return to the previous room. Read the paper on the right side of the desk to reveal the ingredients for your
potion. Take this time to create 2 unlock chest potions. Then make your way into the room on the right, then up.
Use your potion on the chest to get learn an anti-moss recipe. Return to the potion room and create an anti-moss
potion and use it on the rock to your left and proceed through to the next room.
On the desk in the next room, you will find the roundup recipe. Return to the potion room, create a roundup
potion and use it on the cactus to get through. Once you get past the cactus, go into the next room and see
Virgil’s children once more. After they leave, look at the yellow paper on the desk to lean the dis-anti-theft
recipe.
Return to the potion room and create a dis-anti-theft potion, then go through the top exit. Use your dis-anti-
theft potion on the necklace to pick it up. Return to the potion room once more and this time go through the
bottom exit. Walk through the fire and proceed through the following rooms until you come across a chest. Use
your unlock chest potion on it to receive a torchlight recipe.
Return to the potion room, create a torchlight potion and then return to the dungeon entrance. From here, go
into the door in the south west corner. Continue through the following rooms until you come to a room with a
rock blocking an exit and an unlit torch.
Use your torchlight potion on the unlit torch and then make your way into the next room. Get the flame seal
from the chest before returning to the dungeon entrance once more. Now use your flame seal on the floating red
orb in the top right corner of the room and make your way through the following rooms.
Eventually you will come to a room with three spells on a table and three crystals. You will need to use the
appropriate spells to destroy the crystals. After you’ve destroyed them, continue into the next room. After Virgil’s
children leave the room, read the book that Dexter put on the desk to see how to make your own spells.
Page 38 Dawn’s Light 2 Strategy Guide
Combine the ‘un’ spell on the left table with the ‘lock’ spell on the right table with the ‘lock’ spell on the right
table to create an unlock spell. Use your unlock spell on the locked gate and continue. In the next room, you will
have to make various spells to get past all of the obstacles.
Use a multi-blast (green) to destroy the doors, flame blasts of red, blue and purple to light the torches next to
those of the same color and switch blasts of the same color to press the switches on the wall. After you do all of
that, the blocker will fall, revealing the cat. Use a power blast (green) on the cat (don’t worry, he’s not real ) to
receive the cat outfit and get the cat out of the way.
Proceed into the next room where you must push the fires into the torches to light them. Just face a torch and
push the fire to light them. After all of the torches have been lit, make your way through the door at the top of
the room to get the intellect seal.
Return to the first room and use the intellect seal to get past the floating purple orb at the top of the room.
Proceed into the next room and have Dexter and Darwin come to your rescue. After they blow up the blocker,
make your way into the next room. This time you will have to solve the puzzle. To solve the puzzle, push the
bottom left rock up, then push the top right rock left and finally push the bottom rock up. Then proceed into the
next room.
In the next room, the kids solve the puzzle again so you will be able to continue onto the next room after they
are done. In the room after that, just push each rock up to solve the puzzle, then continue forward to get to the
boss.
After fighting the boss, make your way out of the dungeon. You will end up back in Virgil’s castle and he’ll Dexter
will fix the teleport crystals for you. You can now use the teleport crystals to instantly travel between all of the
towns in the game. This will make finishing the remaining side quests easier.
After Dexter fixes the crystals, it’s time for you to head to each of the trial isles. You’ll find them on small islands
on the world map.
Get on your boat and sail to the most south west island. Get off you boat and enter the building to arrive at the
trial of the sun. There are four rooms on the left and right of the central hub. Each one contains a key to open
one of the doors at the north exit.
To gain the keys in the side rooms, you must push the blocks onto the colored tiles and then rotate them to
change their color to match the tile below.
After you’ve gotten the sun amulet from the Trial of the Sun, leave the temple and return to your boat. From that
island, sail north until you come to a dock that is located on the bottom of the island that Harvey and Colin went
to for their artifact. Dock your boat on the island.
The Trial of the Stars was once an energetic and complex place. Now it is little more than the leftover rubble of a
time gone by. Make your way up through each of the rooms. There’s a door along the way that leads to one of the
Titan Gates. Reach the end room and claim your prize.
Head up to the north east corner of the world map. You will notice a second dock right near Autumn Island.
Dock your boat at this island and enter the Trial of the Moon.
The Trial of the Moon is similar to the Midnight Cave from the beginning of the game. In the first room, you can
no longer push the light blocks around, but you can push the pillar. Push the first pillar right until the light
shines on it and it explodes, then get the key.
Make your way up and then left. Loot the blue chest to receive a sun stone. Return to the previous room. Now
make your way right, up, left and then up to arrive in a room with another blue chest. Loot the moon stone, then
make your way down, right and then down. Use your moon stone on the block with the arrow on it to blow up
the pillar and then make your way through the newly revealed door.
Make your way through the following rooms until you end up at another blue chest. Loot the star stone and then
return to the room near the start of the dungeon with three blocks with arrows on them. Use a stone on each
block to clear the way to the final boss. After you loot the chest, the mysterious figure will arrive again and give
you a key.
Now make your way back to Autumn Island. Return to Harvey’s house and take the north exit to end up at the
Magubbin Cave. Use your key to open the door and then make your way through the cave. Eventually you will
end up speaking to Gordon who will help you unlock the entrance to the Tower of Eternity.
Tower of Eternity
Make your way to the top of the stairs and step into the giant hexagram to enter the Tower of Eternity. Walk up a
little and blocks will fly in from the side to form a bride for you to cross. In each of the little rooms, you will need
to find the required amount of switches as indicated by the notepad in the corner. Once you’ve found all of the
switches, you will be able to advance.
Continue to do this until you arrive on the roof of the tower. Make your way over to the place where the guardian
went after the tower was first attacked in the cutscene at the beginning of the game. Make sure you save first!
In Coyote Borough, there’s a house to the right of the Master Trickster’s Cave. Inside you will find Sterling who
will give you a sticker book. You can collect stickers before this, but after you speak with him you’ll be able to
track your sticker collecting progress in your journal.
To unlock the Challenge Island side quest, make your way to Firehawk City. If you haven’t completed the
Diamond Mines yet, you will need to do that first.
Go to the top left building in Firehawk City. Inside you will find a lone treasure chest. After the events that follow
you will come into possession of the Challenge Island map. Be warned, this quest is not for the weak of heart.
You will find this quest in Cocoa Village. After you witness the icicles freezing anybody unlucky enough to be
outside, make your way to the inn.
Marlie at the left counter will give you some warm brownies and hot cocoa. Take them outside and defrost Hale
who is standing by the pond. He will then sell you the map to Dream Station Omega where you will start this
quest.
In Virgilius Maximus, there is a tournament. A tournament unlike any the world has ever seen, according to
Mona that is. You’ll find Mona in a hole in the ground near the north west barbecue area. Jump down the hole
and make your way into Battlezone!
Should you leave Battlezone victorious you will obtain the map to Bluewood Village where you can start this
quest.
Once you get the stick, leave the house. There are a number of
things around the town that you will be able to try the stick
out on. Only through the process of trial and error (or this
guide) will you be able to figure out exactly what it is you were
supposed to do with the stick.
First, make your way back to the beach that you arrived on.
Then head west onto the next map and speak to the suspicious
kid on the far side of the beach. He will ask to see your stick for
just a second. Say yes and he will give you back a new fortified
stick.
Take your stick, along with its newfound powers back into the
city and this time leave through the north exit near the trees.
Make sure you don’t speak to the chicken. Now walk over to the
little patch of dirt on the ground and use your stick to dig a
hole. The new fortified nature of this stick means that it never
breaks down, or at least not until you’ve finished digging.
Jump in the hole that you’ve just dug for yourself and walk over
to the sack to pick up a potato. Climb back up the rope and
make your way back to the map with the child who fixed your
stick for you. You’ll see an empty box near stone wall up the
top. Put your potato in the box to discover that it was actually
a grenade of some description. After the potato blows a hole in
the wall, walk through and pick up a piece of cheese out of the
bags on the desk.
Now return to the main part of the town once more. Jump into
the well in the south east corner of the map. You will see a
tiger at the bottom. Give him the piece of cheese and he will
tell you that you have completed the quest. Return to Adrian in
his house to get your reward.
To start this quest, you will need to speak to a certain somebody in Cocoa Village who will sell you a map. Once
you get the map (and your boat back), sail over to Dream Station Omega which shall henceforth be referred to as
‘the dream island’.
When you first arrive at the dream island, speak to the man at the counter. He’ll fill you in on all the details
about his Danger Simulator and then he’ll take you into the back room. Follow him in there and speak to him
once more to learn that he actually needs you to bring him a dream rock before he can turn the machine on.
Luckily he also gives you a map so tracking down the ogre isn’t as difficult as it first seems.
Sail over to the ogre’s island, go inside his house and then walk through the giant hole in the wall to meet him in
the back room. Speak to him to initiate a battle, then get his dream rock and take it back to Marty at the dream
island.
Harvey’s Dream
After you give the rock to Marty, he’ll send Harvey into the simulation room while the others all head up into the
viewing deck. After receiving a large blast of poison to the face, Harvey wakes up in the middle of his dream – the
one where he fights the scientists. After jumping in the window and beating up all the bad guys, Harvey
discovers that all of his friends are being held hostage inside the factory.
Make your way through the factory, fighting all of the zombies and releasing each party member from their cages
along the way. After you’ve rescued everyone, the door at the top of the room near the window that Harvey
jumped in will open up and you’ll be able to leave the dream.
Colin’s Dream
After watching the league of zombies arriving on the shores of the beach, Colin is sent to speak to Davian back at
the camp. Make your way south along the beach until you reach him. He’ll tell you that you need to go and take
care of some zombies in the frost. Make your way right to get to the forest. Speak with the guard there to receive
your orders, then make your way around the forest and destroy all of the zombies.
Once all of the zombies are destroyed, talk to the guard in the north west corner of the forest. Once he moves
out of the way, step onto the tile with the arrows on it to start spinning around and move onto the next map.
Spin your way through all of the zombies to finish Colin’s dream.
After Colin wakes up, Marty tells you that you’ll need to go and get yet another dream rock before you’re allowed
to use the danger simulator again. You’ll need the upgraded boat to get the next dream rock because you’ll need
to sail over rocks to get to the third ogre’s island. After you get the rock, return it to Marty to commence Vera’s
dream.
Tyson’s Dream
The zombies have returned again, and this time they’re attacking Tyson’s ship. After Tyson’s number two reveals
the nature of the attack, it’s up to Tyson to make sure the zombies don’t take over the entire ship.
After every zombie has been received a sufficient stabbing, Tyson’s dream will be over and he’ll wake up. By this
time, Vera is finally ready to have a go of the machine. Surely enough, Marty tells you that he needs another
dream rock to get the machine going again. You’ll have to sail over to the fourth ogre’s island and bring the rock
back to Marty to get the machine started again.
Vera’s Dream
After giving the others a brief talking to, Vera sets out to gather 10 helpful people to make sure they are taken
care of when the zombies arrive. Walk around the island and speak to all of the people to send them back to the
house. Use the dock at the bottom of the island to get to the fisherman and go through the cave to collect a few
more people. Once you’ve got all 10, Vera will head back to the house.
Hang around the house for a while. After 1 minute has passed, Harvey will reveal that he saw some vital supply
bags around the island that they may be able to use. Vera will head outside once more. Walk around to all of the
places on the island and pick up all of the bags. You’ll find them in houses, caves, fishing islands etc. Once you’ve
found all of the bags, Vera will head back to the house once more, only to discover that Tyson, Colin and Harvey
have disappeared and her variable tracker is displaying 0/3 rescues.
Make your way back outside and proceed to rescue the others. You’ll find Harvey on the fisherman’s island,
Tyson behind the house in the main area and Colin atop the mountain that the cave leads to. If the zombies get
in your way, just walk into them and Vera will slap them so hard they go flying and then explode. After you’ve
rescued everybody, Vera will wake up from her dream.
Multi Dream
After Vera wakes up and returns to the foyer, Marty offers to put the whole gang in the danger simulator at once.
Harvey immediately agrees and so they all get stuffed in there.
When the party wakes up, they notice that they’ve been taken to slime island. They’re a little confused at first,
but soon decide to see what’s really going on. All you need to do is make your way up to the top of the island to
discover the truth about the danger simulator!
You’ll find bottles or groups of bottles lying around on tables around the village. Pick
these up to receive 15 bonus spiders.
You’ll see lots of tiny spiders running around on the floor. Walk into them to pick them
up and receive 2 spiders.
Pick the spider bait up off the table in the room with the tear-able
picture of Vera on the wall and use it to catch spiders beyond the
torn picture.
Hammer
After you’ve caught 300 spiders, you’ll be able to get past the sign blocking the volcano. When you get in the
volcano, make your way up the stairs on the left side of the room, then walk up the stairs in the next room and
take the left exit. On the table at the bottom of the room, you’ll see the hammer lying on the table. After you pick
it up, you will be able to smash rocks open to receive bonus spiders.
Scythe
After you’ve caught 400 spiders, you’ll be able to enter the house on the right side of the island. Once you enter,
you’ll find yourself in the yard. Make your way to the south east corner of the yard and enter the shed in the
corner. You’ll find the scythe in the chest. You can now use them to cut the plants that are blocking your path or
blocking you from pushing boxes or bookcases out of the way.
BRISKET.
I’ll see you soon, Travis. I’ll see you real soon.
Titans
It Titans
turns out he will only open up the gate for his good
old buddy Tyson. What is he getting at here?
Titans
Smashing the rock will summon one of the Titans who will attack you. If you defeat the Titan then you’ll receive
special ore which you can use to craft the most powerful weapons in the game. The Titans are very powerful so
be warned.
Hot Lazy Legs can be found inside Gloria’s Titan Gate in Cocoa
Village. His legs are lazy and hot. Avast!
Once you start NGP, you can’t go back. We suggest you save in a different slot but either way, you will have to
work your way through the game. To avoid NGP player’s remorse, make sure you’re ready before you start. Buy
any augments or armor you think you might want.
On NG+, the ore you pick up isn’t going to be very useful anymore. Iron is for chumps. The good news is, the
tougher enemies will drop better ore for you. You’ll find different forms of titanium that is much stronger than
anything you’ll get on a normal game.
Better Gems
To go along with the more powerful ore, you’ll get precious gems from the beginning. The gem chests will still
give you the same lame gems as before so make sure you track down the stronger enemies (the skeletons).
New Armor
Since you’ll be making stronger weapons with titanium, you’ll probably want some new armor to go with it. The
good news is, the armor shops will all have a few new pieces available for you. They are a lot stronger than what
you could get before but they also cost quite a bit more.
The final titan, Yevrah Nosyt Arev is a level 100 monster. The only way to defeat him is to play through NGP. If
you can somehow defeat him, you will have become a Grand Master of Dawn’s Light 2. (That’s not a real thing
btw)
Battle Introduction
In Dawn’s Light 2, there are 3 types of battles:
Weak Enemies
Weak enemies usually travel in groups. They are easy to defeat and will drop a single dungeon
token. They can also drop ore.
Strong Enemies
Strong enemies are fought one at a time. They have more health and do more damage than
weak enemies. They drop 5 dungeon tokens and can also drop gems.
Bosses
As you might expect, bosses are the toughest enemies you will face. They have a lot more health
and often have multiple forms that do additional damage. If you defeat a boss you will be
rewarded 10 dungeon tokens.
Treasure Rooms
You can skip most enemies but if you do, you’ll be missing out on valuable
dungeon tokens. These tokens are used at the end of each dungeon to
purchase your choice of rewards.
The more enemies you defeat, the more tokens you’ll have to spend on
fantastic prizes.
In Dawn’s Light 2, your choice of weapon is much more important. Not only does
each type of weapon have different bonus abilities, but you will learn new skills as you
master each weapon type.
You can find a list of all weapon skills in the crafting section of this guide.
On the right of the battle screen, you can see the order in which each battler will take
their turn. After a battler has a turn they will move to the bottom of the list. This
information can be very helpful in planning your attacks.
You can also delay your enemy’s next attack by using a stun or slowing ability.
Working Together
In Dawn’s Light 2, you can really take advantage of each of your characters by setting up higher damage attacks.
For example, Tyson has a move called unleash pain that does much more damage to enemies when they are
bleeding. By giving another character an axe and having them use cleave, they can cause an enemy to bleed.
Then you can have Tyson follow up with unleash pain and do much more damage than either could do on their
own.
You have two slots for weapons. A two handed weapon will take up both slots. If you’re using one handed
weapons you can equip any combination. If you want to use two shields, feel free.
Armor
Armor is your main source of defense. Armor is sold in all towns so make sure you check for any upgrades
whenever you come across a new town.
In addition to defense, each armor has a bonus stat. It might be agility, extra health or even more defense.
Trinket
Trinkets provide a wide variety of bonuses. Any character can equip any trinket so feel free to experiment.
Gadget
Gadgets are equippable items that will teach you a new skill. Any character can equip any gadget so it’s up to you
to decide who you want to have each attack.
Outfit
Outfits now give you small but helpful bonuses. In the end, the best choice of outfit is the one that looks the
best, right?
After you rescue Christoph in Redwood Forest, a new option will appear in the menu. You can use it to teleport
to Christoph’s workshop at any time during the game.
The weapons Christoph makes for you will be far superior to those you can purchase at weapon shops.
Crafting Materials
Ore
Ore is the basic crafting material. You need 10 ore of a certain type make a weapon. The more powerful the ore
the stronger your weapon will be.
Augments add special bonuses to your weapons. Each town has a crafting vendor that will sell you a different
augment.
Gems
Gems allow you to customize your weapons stats however you like. You’ll find lesser, greater and pure gems. The
different types affect how powerful the stat increase is.
Next choose what type of ore your weapon will be made of. You’ll
need to have 10 of that ore in your inventory to craft a weapon out of
it.
Next you’ll need to decide what type of weapon you’re making. The
class of weapon that you choose will affect what weapon skills you can
use.
Select a gem to put in your weapon. Gems give additional stats to your
weapons. Two handed weapons can hold an extra gem.
Choose a design for the weapon. Higher classes of ore will have more
designs to choose from.
Choose a name for your weapon. You can use one of the suggested
