Circles Bonifacio
COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards
The learner is able to demonstrate understanding of key concepts of geometry of shapes and
sizes, and geometric relationships.
B. Performance Standards
The learner is able to create models of plane figures and formulate and solve accurately authentic
problems involving sides and angles of a polygon.
C. Learning Competency
Illustrates a circle and the terms related to it: radius, diameter chord, center, arc, chord, central
angle, and inscribed angle. (M7GE-IIIg-1)
D. Specific Objectives
At the end of the discussion, the students should be able to:
1. define what is a circle,
2. name the different parts of a circle given an illustration; and
3. identify the parts of a circle with speed and accuracy.

C. Presentation
Based on what you have done earlier can what can you say
about those pictures? Some of the pictures are food sir.
What about the shape? Its shape is a circle sir.
So can you guess now what our topic for this morning? Our topic for this morning sir is
That’s right our topic for this morning is about circles. about circle.
D. Discussion
To organize classroom activities into academic and social
learning experiences. It differs from group work, and it has been
described as "structuring positive interdependence.
Cooperative Learning involves structuring classes around small
groups that work together in such a way that each group
member's success is dependent on the group's success.)

E. Developing Mastery
I will now draw a circle and I will call 1 student to name the
following:
F. Analysis
Okay class so what is a circle again? Circle is a set of all points on a
plane that are the same distance
from a fixed point called the center
What do you call a line segment from any point of a circle to the Radius
center?
What is the difference between a radius and a diameter? A radius is only half of a diameter
while a diameter is composed of
two radius.
Is it true that a radius is a half diameter? Yes sir.
What are the difference between a minor and a major arc? A minor arc is less than a
semicircle while a major arc is
That’s right. greater than a semicircle.
G. Application
Now let us have a 5 item quiz. Write it on a 1⁄8 sheet of paper.
Write your surname if your answer is true and write your section
