Dear Shannon Metcalfe

I am writing to apply for the role of Graduate Recruitment Consultant in Edinburgh. My

history, both in education and out, show a track record of success, of which I believe
highlights my self-motivation and discipline to reach the goals I set for myself.
I believe my strong communication skills have been tested to a high level during my
undergraduate and post-graduate degrees, where I was successful in dealing with very large
quantities of information and data, of which I was able to present both in written and verbal
form.
My achievement of a first-class honours degree and my current success at Masters level show
my ambition and drive to achieve results, both for myself and my colleagues that I have
worked. For example, strong collaborative skills have been frequently tested through group
presentations, all of which I have achieved high grades and personally enjoyed.
Throughout my degree, I have had to make full use of the Microsoft Office Suit, with
emphasis placed on Word and PowerPoint for the majority of my work (e.g. written
assignments, reports, essays, presentations etc.) as well as Excel to deal with large amounts of
data. Again, my educational success provides evidence of my fluency of this software.
Outside of education, my success at competing at a high standard in powerlifting, I believe,
highlights my competitive nature, as well as my resilience. Having had to come back from
injury multiple times has required strong mental resilience in order to cope with
disappointment and setbacks, an attribute vital to work in recruitment.
Overall, I am energetic, competitive, have a will to succeed, and have a great telephone
manner. It is for the above reasons why I believe that I am a suitable candidate for the role of
a Recruitment Consultant.

Yours sincerely
Edward Evans
