NOTES:

1) Try to maintain the middle range of above composition

2) Material shall be supplied in DC cast, Homogenised & Fabricated condition

3) Grain size should be uniform and average grain size shall be 150 Microns without any coring and cell size of 70 m Max

4)Billet shall pass Ultrasonic testing according to class A1 of AMS 2630 D (1.2mm FBH for Single point discontuinity and
0.8mm FBH for multiple discontinuity).

5) Macrostructure, shall pass mactro test according to ATM E 340, free from discontinuties & porosities etc

Al Alloy Manufacturing Route:

DC cast --- Homogenised and Machined

INSTRUCTION TO SUPPLIER:

1) The surface should be free of defects such as cracks, laps, seams, porosities & laminations etc.

2) Report the microstructure and Grain size after Homogenisation and free from coring along with TC.

GUIDELINES / INFORMATION TO SUPPLIER:

Note: In case grain size and imicrostrucutre are not met after further processing at MFPL., the heat will be rejected.

TEST CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Identification : Each billet should bear grade & heat number

Test certificate must include: a) melting & Casting route b) Chemical composition & Gas content
c) Weight d) Certification of supply condition f) Grain Size and Microstrucutre g) RMDS No., P.O. No. & Date

* RESIDUAL ELEMENTS NOT TO BE ADDED INTENTIONALLY, TO BE KEPT MIN AS POSSIBLE. VALUES TO BE ANALYSED &
REPORTED IN TC.
